Demolition company tearing down White House flooded with negative reviews

"Shame on you," read one of dozens of reviews for the company demolishing the East Wing facade to build Trump's new ballroom.

The company that is demolishing part of the White House to make space for President Donald Trump’s ballroom has been flooded with negative reviews online by people angry at the partial destruction of the East Wing.

“Destroying ‘The People’s House’ with no regard for their permission,” a one-star review on Google Maps reads. “Deplorable act no matter the reason.”

Dozens of people who gave the Maryland-headquartered demolition contractor, Aceco LLC, one-star reviews in the last few hours alone have similar feelings.

Newsweek contacted Aceco by email for comment on Tuesday morning outside of standard working hours.

One of the things I got from being homeschooled that I will never be able to overcome is the whole thing of giving eight hours of my day to some bullshit. When I got into public school for the first time that's what blew me away the most I just couldn't believe it it was eight hours of pretty much a bunch of bullshit that could've been done in like five if not less!!! so I've always been really bad at having a boss in the eight hour workday. dragging something that could be done in five hours out into eight hours, it's stupid. My next job will be a part-time.

so when I heard that thing about how school is just preparation for the eight hour workday which is basically the same as barracks which is pretty much the same as jail which is like school which is exactly like the factory workday, it made sense

I started a contract job in November of this year that goes through February 2026. How will my taxes work for the upcoming year?

You will file your taxes based off of a 1099, which your client will provide you. If they don't provide you with a 1099, you'll just self-report the income you made in November and December.

Taxes are based on the calendar year, not the length of your employment. So even if you only worked 1 day in 2025, you'll file your taxes based on the amount you worked on that day.
