In my personal headcanon Ava and Ellana organically get together one quiet night after a surprisingly heartfelt conversation - Ava had left the Warehouse because she was annoyed and wanted some peace and quiet but didn't tell anyone where she was going and how long she'd be gone for - and I just have this vision of Nat discovering she's gone and just messaging her early in the morning like
"Where are you?"
"What's happened"
"Are you alright?"
"If you don't call me back within the hour I'm contacting Agent Greene"
And then Nat calls Ellana first before calling Rebecca and whilst she's on the phone Ava checks her messages and they both just share that "oh no" look when they both realise they've been caught before they even get the chance to hide it because Nat hears Ava talking in the background.
