Steve and Eddie both got baggage over the years, just like anyone else. They get together with fumbles and misunderstandings. It's not drama-filled but Eddie likes open communication and Steve... well, he doesn't mind it but he's not one to open up.

Like that time he casually says he doesn't drink around his child because he doesn't want her to experience that. Or when he throws in a comment about how he didn't do anything all weekend because she was at a sleepover so he just stayed in bed for three days.

The one about how his first time with a guy wasn't a good experience is just another one of his casual comments. Prying isn't what Eddie wants, so he doesn't ask for more than Steve gives.

It's like piecing together a puzzle trying to understand him. He texts at odd times in the middle of the night (nevermind that Eddie is also awake) so he doesn't sleep well. He sleeps better when they're together, and he doesn't nap during the day when Eddie stays the night.

Nightmares? Not that Eddie hears, but he's seen him stress out about the bills and tuition for school so he pays for their dates. Pays for the groceries. It's not easy to make Steve accept it but he's sneaky and does it before Steve gets his wallet up. It annoys him but a kiss on the cheek quiets the mutters.

It's not his place to pry and he doesn't want to force Steve to talk but when his boyfriend distracts him with an article about the world's oldest tree or whatever, rather than saying he doesn't want to have sex point blank, he worries.

If he's got an issue with the movies that Eddie picks he doesn't say so either (unless they're over the two-hour mark) and he doesn't fight for the movie he'd rather watch. He doesn't fight for what he'd rather have for dinner either. At times, it's like he's making himself smaller to appease Eddie and that feels awful.

The talking in the tags instead of writing in the reblog has really thrown me off. I don't know what to do with that. One or two words I get because maybe people feel it's dumb to write in text when it's not a coherent sentence and I adapted to doing that but I mostly I ignore tags because it's not a conversation for me, just ones own thoughts that have nothing to do with me
