Howele and Plunae: The <> Work Dynamic
Self-employed, Howele and Plunae live together in an above-water mansion, which they work out of. The two of them compliment each other nicely in that they do not have a lot in common.
They are near opposites of each other, in fact, but this lends itself to their work.
The two are a troll hunting duo, known to dabble in vaguely illegal things, but mostly working towards... something that it actually considered quite legal. In short, they are (most often) contacted for their work as hunters of escaped slaves. Not to kill them (unless that’s what a troll wants), but to find them and return them to their previous owner. Totally legal.
The work typically begins when someone contacts them, or when they contact someone offering their assistance, be it Howele or Plunae. Most often it is Howele, as he is the more charismatic and personable one.
Then, the workload is shifted to Plunae, who specializes in finding information on a given troll, pulling up records (if they were a slave at some point, they are usually documented somewhere), and tracing any instances of the troll in question popping up online. Anything technology-based or logical is Her Game.
Once that is done, the information is then given to Howele, who is most often the one to go and retrieve the troll. The method sometimes differs (which may depend on the person who contacted them saying how much force is allowed in capturing the troll), but he is typically best suited to the job. This applies double to a job that requires less force to be used, as he is often the most likely to present himself as non-threatening, thus allowing him to get within closer proximity to a target to capture. He’s also better at sneaking around, and has more contacts than Plunae.
Plunae does, however, sometimes assist with capturing, but very rarely does it by herself. She is capable enough to do so, but only usually in the case that violence is more liberally allowed.
Sometimes their work extends towards capturing trolls to sell to people who may wish to re-sell them in an auction, which usually involves looking for certain criteria, such as a troll having white hair, thus making them more valuable, and so on. (Telero is an example of one who might contact them for such a purpose.)
The actual delivery of a captured troll falls to Howele, as he is, again, the more personable troll. Almost all dealing with outside contacts is His Game.
In addition, they both tend to keep informed about current events within slaving circles, and keep in mind if certain slaves might have escaped, even if they have not been contacted for a job to find them. It can come in handy to have in mind, if one of them stumbles upon an escaped troll by chance. Escaped trolls that belonged to seadwellers who are well known slavers, in particular, are the types they’d keep in mind. (Example: Xandul.)
As both of them are important members of The Poker Group, a lovely fishbowl of trolls who do less than savory things from time to time, their expertise is sought out occasionally by other members for certain things. (They are also most often the host of an actual poker meeting, given their hive is most convenient for such meetings, but that’s another things entirely.)
How to contact them: If you know where to look or what social circles to look in, it’s not that hard. All you really need is a trolltag (most often Howele’s) or a face-to-face conversation, and business can be struck by there. They typically work from a standpoint that most people who need to know about them already do, and their work can be found relatively easily because of their reputation. Anything that is less legal work, however, is not something most trolls would know to ask for.
