Thinking about how Plundak is being cyptic to the grifters but also tells them "maybe one day you'll figure it out" when asked about previous lives.
Which is making me think about Plundak being incredibly lonely in his situation and wanting to connect to someone, anyone who goes through (kinda) the same thing, and being so close yet so far with the grifters.
Maybe she fears what might happen if she reveals that they technically just die over and over and over again and come back slightly different because I mean, that would fuck anyone up. So they're just being this mysterious yet sympathetic shopkeeper that helps them in their own special way.
