So on my 'give birth in September' group there was a soon-to-be mom, who had to "give up on her dream to have a home birth' because of her dog.
Said dog apparently have a "brain damage that result in the big ass dog behaving like a 4 month old pup" and that it would not behave during the birth. It destroys the apartment and barks when there's guests - and so the presence of the midwife would be 'too much for it'.
She would not have the dog looked after during the birth, because that wasn't fair to the dog, when her other two kids was allowed to stay. She didn't "have a dog and kids just for other people to care for them" 🙄she would rather give birth at the hospital and then have someone come walk the dog. Because that's somehow better???
I literally wanted to shake her.
I'm pretty sure that dog is just mentally under stimulated and that she what?? Wanted someone to praise her for 'giving up on her dream' for a dog? I gave her some actual advice on what I have done to prepare for a home birth in a home with 3 dogs. But I wasn't sugar coating anything.
Tl;dr I'm done with people wanting praise and empathy for problems they created themselves. Also I'm a hypocrite and I know this.
