I’ve been recovering from eye surgery, hence the lack of the usual Christmas Plushie Ricky post, and posting in general! To hopefully compensate for that, here’s a picture of Plushie Ricky next to one of my Christmas presents - I think he’ll enjoy using that mug as much as me!
After York, it was on to Leicester, where we visited the Richard III Visitor Centre, saw his tomb in Leicester Cathedral, and also visited the Guildhall. I didn’t actually get any pictures of Plushie Ricky with the tomb as I thought that wouldn’t be respectful but rest assured we had a wonderful visit. Also, the fourth photo may look familiar... I took a very similar one back in 2013!
It was a few years ago now - 2013, in fact - when I started this blog at the Richard III Museum in York. Five years later I was back! The museum has changed a lot; there were helmets you could try on, lots of different exhibitions, and even clips from Horrible Histories, where Plushie Ricky is sort of from! We had a fantastic time. We also visited the Henry VII Experience, much to Richard’s chagrin, as well as York Minster and other amazing places. Hopefully, it won’t be five years until I return to York again!
Happy birthday Richard III! His Plushiness is pictured here with the book I’m reading at the moment; rather fitting, no?
Today marks the anniversary of the Battle of Bosworth Field - the 22nd of August 1485. It’s a sad occasion, but a good opportunity to wear this t-shirt! Requiescat in pace, Richard. Loyaulté me lie.
So I found a certain someone in a gift shop today and I couldn’t resist - I can’t tell if His Plushiness approves or not...
It has been too long since His Plushiness and I posted here but we thought today would be an auspicious day to do so - the 531st anniversary of the joint coronation of King Richard III and Anne Neville. Sadly Plushie Ricky’s crown is a bit small, but his goblet of mead is just right!
So, I was going to make a post about doing research for my postgraduate dissertation (a play about Margaret of Anjou) and how that reminds me of my undergraduate dissertation on Shakespeare’s portrayal of her, and how Ricky posed with those books too... then one of the books fell on him. I feel like Margaret of Anjou would be pleased.
