My altar today as I’m setting up to do some road opener work in conjunction with Pluto stationing direct. As an Astrowitch, I like to align my spells not just with the phases of the Moon, but also with the other planets in our solar system.
Today Pluto stations direction at 20 Capricorn - I’m using the Londa Tarot Fool (0) card as my Road Opener talisman for a lot of reasons. For one thing, the Fool is a traditional symbol of Road Opening. But its deeper than that for me - this card has been my inspiration for my Hades figure in the story I wrote about Hades & Persephone for nearly 20 years now.
I added three (visible) symbols to the card - a symbol for Pluto, a symbol for the planet of Capricorn, and an arrow to symbolize opening the roads.
As a devotee to Hades, I deeply connect with him at this time of the year as his true love Persephone comes back to him. In a way, that is what I would like this road opener to do - return to me what is meant for me and shed all that is not. ‘Tis the season after all.

Pluto is stationed to turn retrograde (visual illusion from the Earth), a period when its signification is even more powerful, cruel and unforgiving. If you can, just remember that Pluto has a heart on his surface, that in the end, everything that he puts us through ends up resulting for our own wellbeing. This you can only understand in four more years when he will be out of Capricorn. For now, if feels like going through a grinder, if you happen to have a hard aspect to one of your natal planets. If it is a soft aspect, it will be really smooth, though. If you have planets in Cardinal Signs, I’ve learned from my Health Astrology teacher, Lynn Koiner, that you’d benefit from drinking lemon balm and holy basil teas or supplements. Try it for a few weeks, and tell me how you feel. I’m drinking it too because Pluto is making a hard aspect to an important planet in my chart. I’ll try to make time to make a video to explain Pluto’s influence in our life. Stay tuned because I bet you’ll enjoy knowing more about this. However, just in a few words, Pluto’s process is that of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly, a complete regeneration, your old self dies, a new self is born.
Pluto retrograde elicits fear of being secretly manipulated, people obsess about being betrayed and controlled, feel the urge to control their own desires, and other people. It also awakens the fear of being vulnerable (fear of death). All this happens in Capricorn, the Sign of government institutions, executive authorities, and organisms. More than ever, will they grip to their power because the ground is giving under their feet. In your personal chart, look what house is occupied by Capricorn, that’s the area of life affected by Pluto’s retrograde. Just let go, don’t hold on to the decay in your life, use that for compost to build your future! Pluto retrogrades April 25 to October 4, 2020. Make it a happy day! Sat Nam. Pluto, foto from NASA.
