Also on April 30, in 1946, award-winning animator and filmmaker Bill Plympton was born. One of the most idiosyncratic artists working today, Plympton is considered the King of Indie Animation and was the first person ever to hand draw an entire feature film by himself. He has created commercials for MTV, Taco Bell and AT&T among others, has made music videos for everyone from Weird Al Yankovich, Peter Himmelman and Kanye West, has released dozens of shorts and has even done six “Simpsons” couch gags. He is most famous however, for his animated features, including from top to bottom: “How To Kiss” (1989), “I Married A Strange Person” (1997), “Idiots And Angels” (2008), “Mutant Aliens (2001) and “The Tune” (1992). I should also mention that I think every frame of his work is a masterpiece.

Bill Plympton has launched an animated political cartoon series:

episode 1 “It’s the bigness of the office...”

episode 2 “I do have a relationship with him...”

episode 3 “I’m a cleanliness freak...”

He’s looking to raise $60,000 to make 3 more. $20K per episode seems like a lot but then again  5 years ago John K. asked for $110,000 for a 7 minute short that he still hasn’t finished. Bill Plympton has kickstarted and finished 2 feature films in that time ‘Cheatin’ and ‘Revengeance’
