so I had been at PMX
Most of you probably know me as the twig Dave English (the nerd with the unpainted guns who kept throwing them accidentally whilst practicing spinning them or dropping them. I work better with swords tbh) or the cut neck Dave Strider.
Now, a lot of the time outside of the cosplay community i identify as a girl because I cannot really hide my chest that often without suffering damage to my ribs (binders shouldnt be worn more than 8 hours and I have a 12 hour to 14 hour day usually). And since I don't bind often, I get compliments and told I'm a cute girl. Now that's nice since people don't know me and I cannot expect them to be able to know what I am.
For clarification, I recently discovered I am genderfluid. I can be either gender, sometimes nonbinary but that is still new ground that I am not fully read-up on so I will not say that I am nonbinary.
Well, for the very first time while I was at PMX, people asked me for my pronouns. More specifically, my fellow Homestucks asked me.
I have never felt so happy in my entire life. I told people who asked that I identify as both a girl and a guy, depending on if I'm in cosplay or binding or not. And people started using he/him pronouns when addressing me because I asked.
If you don't understand, (if you do, then ilu) I have always hated just being called a girl since I was 10. Since I was 10. For years I have been wishing I could confuse someone with my gender and maybe, hopefully, get them to use male pronouns.
And now some people voluntarily asked me what pronouns I use and used the ones I politely and nervously asked them to use. This may be an insignificant conversation to those who are confident in their gender, and I certainly do not wish to force my pronouns down some stranger's throat for my own comfort, but this
This gave me hope.
That maybe someday I can be able to use him/he pronouns more than her/she pronouns. That I can confuse people not for the sake of making them uncomfortable (as I always clarify and thank them), but for the sake of maybe one day being confident enough to take the next big leap.
Thank you guys.
