Because of the massive scale of the Retezat Mountain-range, all you can see around you is pure nature. From time to time, you will meet with friendly shepherds who will speak to you in their specific calm manner.

Walking along the Retezat Mountain plateaus you will find lots of horse and sheep herds. This Romanian Shepherd dog that you see on the left was kind enough to escort us pass a part of the plateau and accepted a good patting on the back and scratching behind the ears as a reward.
Sharp summits in Retezat Mountain. The Retezat Natural Preservation Park is the only one in Europe that is not crossed by any motorway at all. The best place to go if you like to be isolated from civilization, and only surrounded by natural beauty.
