“i got you. it’s gonna be okay, you’re going to be okay.”
SPIDER SENSES TINGLING...
🕷 ⊰ something hurts, but he ignores it. scratch that. a lot of things hurt, actually. he should be used to it by now, but a majority of him is still human, and numbing didn’t come with the whole spider package. unfortunately. a shock stirs his frame, and he’s limp on the concrete of... the street? the sidewalk? he can’t tell. they feel the same. the next thing he knows though, there are hands capturing him, but not in the way he’d assume. they should have been rash-- quick to reveal the face under his mask-- but they don’t. they pull him up enough to rest his neck on something too soft to be concrete. and he wants to see who it is, but the street lamp blinds him.
another shock seizes him, and his frame rattles. at least it’s not a bullet. it’s just a taser gun. just a circuit coursing through him. just his bones and organs, and other vitals aching. but he is calm. perhaps it’s because the voice of the stranger is tender-- as tender as the way she handled him. but in the midst of it all, he recalls the situation-- the cops. it’s not safe here. they’re after him. abruptly, he rips the metal shards out from his side, and he’s up again, leaping off of the girl’s lap in doing so. his head cranes as he scouts his surroundings-- an intersection down, that’s the block he swung from, and that’s where they snatched him-- where they’ll be coming from.
immediately, he reverts his gaze onto the girl and circles an arm around her waist. “okay, i know this isn’t the kind of ‘thanks’ you want right now, but i gotta get you out of here, all right?” with that being said, he hurries and projects a silky thread off onto the tallest nearby building and swings from it, forcing her with him, “i hope you’re not scared of heights!”
