#poc?

So to start this off , I’m Iranian American, I have an olive skin tone, and this is something I’ve been reading up on for a long time now, out of like curiosity and wonder, about how we’re getting constantly called terrorists or assumed to be dangerous or some shit, if we count , so to speak, as poc. I’ve always felt neither one nor the other about this, just kinda ambiguous, if that even makes sense. I have noticed that people are beginning to put “iranian poc” in their tags or posts or news, and I think it’s a good thing, because we are, I guess, a minority, and it’s been weird to learn that, growing up. Especially in Tr-mp’s era, people have begun pushing the census to have Iranians& (middle easterners?) included , but not the white box, which lists Middle Eastern as a option/ example under it, (calling us white has never really made sense completely to me I guess.? It’s always felt kinda off, ) and now since other Iranians are saying the same thing; I dunno, I guess it just feels really fucking validating. I feel like especially because of tr-mp’s era, it’s risen, the systemic/ institutionalized racism, and again and again I’m cringing and crying and fearing because tumblr posts will pop up and warn us against white supremacists, tr-mp supporters, trying to literally aim guns and try to harm or kill us, warning us about them, domestic *actual!!!!* terrorists, because THE WHITE SUPREMACISTS think WE’RE terrorists, with nothing to lead with but race!!, while all we’re trying to do is hide from them just to stay safe!

POC

When I see post saying Film that has People of Color as main characters, even before I scroll down,there is this "assumption" that they actually mean, black, chinese and/or latina characters. Then I scroll down and...

Oops, I'm right.

Then I go into thinking... If black, chinese and latinas are what consist of POC...

Im no white

Im no black

Im no chinese or japanese (yellow)

So where does that leave my color? "Not included"?

I understand when these people all goes up and fight for POC's, bec we all need a voice, but how could I really say I feel them, when I don't see my color included when people shouts equality.

Just a thought.

We here still loves all colors visiting, we still smile and welcomes everyone with open arms.

Did you ever wonder why in my country, there are so many skin whiteners?

Anglo

A brown to white ratio of 20:80, Brown to dad, white to mother, Brown on some days, white most others. Today she calls you white, Caucasian, Tomorrow, for the sake of her argument, brown.  Just brown. 

Some people see it, or come close. With them, Comes doubt. Am I being seen? Or Appeased. Am I the confused white girl thirsty for diversity? Or some identity robbed pseudo-minority? Would the gift of a sari make me a thief?  Or just, me?

I revel in being noticed. In these poor gueses At what I am. Because it means some part of  Me, some grain of what I am to the world,  Is being seen. Against real suffering, real Oppression of real races, I feel ashamed, So trapped in the binary. 

What am I? I am given Anglo Indian. But  What do I do with it? What is the Anglo’s Place in the world? Oppressor, like the  White? Oppressed like the Indian? Both? Neither? What culture do we claim, what kinship? We seem so quietly separated. 

Like the tangled web of mother and father,  Pulled apart but still hopelessly wound Together, my race is as murky as their Shared truth. The fault, the blame, the Real Victim, The real abandoner in their  Toxic marriage, shifts between their separate Dialogues, my race, my identity, echoing its flux.

I really wonder, why does the kh community draw Xion as a brown girl? Because it’s not like one or two artist... its almost every time I see fan art of xion, she’s depicted as really tan, or super brown. And it throws me off, and I almost don’t realize the fanart is of xion, 92 percent of the time. Where did this come from? I essentially assumed it was because she was connected to sora and was intended to replace him and blah. But please... tell me. Why have I not been notified of the reason? I’d very much like to know. What is the trend?
