Feedback on my Character Plot

So i've heard great feedback from one of my sensitivity readers about the plot line of one of my characters, Youssef Magnuson. He is a character with Dissociative Identity Disorder, or at least close to what the disorder is. My story is set in an urban fantasy setting and so there will be some differences with how it is portrayed in the story, and it is not explicitly stated that he has the disorder. I wanted to portray someone with DID and what it's like, but did not want readers to self diagnose and romanticize the illness, hence I went for the sensitivity reader route besides my intensive research.

WIP Update

I finally finished customizing the Character Page for Phoenix, Fire & Blood. Hooray for me :)

Currently working on Chapter 1, and taking a rest from Outlining, because it is exhausting.

Writeblr Intro

I felt compelled to write one, so here it goes. lol

My name is Maru and I'm 26 years old. I'm new to this whole writing thing and I'm pretty sure I'm lost. Haha. It's just that these ideas keep bugging me and I want to read it. I want to know more about my OCs because they intrigue me. (Well, yeah, I made them. lol) I want to know what happens in between the start and the end because I already know how it all ends, but all the juicy drama is where it's at.

WIP Update

Nice. I actually did 1,303 words today. Prada myself.  My chapter 1 now has 2,055 words. Almost done with chapter 1. This is exhilarating.

Kaleb Maddox

CHARACTER INTRODUCTION

He’s just some guy who one day appeared out of nowhere and into our lives. He has amnesia so I don’t really know much about him aside from the fact that Noora hit him with her car. And now, he lives with her and Mrs. Reed. Which I am not entirely sure how that came to be. Anyway, the only thing he remembers is his name, Kaleb. Nothing else. No friends, no family. Nothing. But he does wear this antique looking ring. It’s the only thing he had when Noora found him. He seems about the same age as me. Maybe a year older or something. Black hair and pale skin and has brown eyes.

He currently works at the Cresent Cafe where we all hang out. He makes really good coffee and has a weird sense of humor that is usually a turn off on almost all the girls. It’s fun to watch. He loves books, and spends a lot of time at the library reading about history, which I think is nice. He wants to know about history because he doesn’t remember anything. It might help jog his memory. But just between you and me, I don’t want him to remember.

He has these crazy superhuman abilities that he uses for good. I know he does. I saw him save this kid from getting hit by a bus. He literally just stood there and hugged the kid while the bus hit them. He left a dent on the bus. Luckily, no one recognized him as he ran away. I asked him about it, but he just lied about it. I mean I understand, I’ve seen too many superhero movies about this. Where the hero lies to protect their friends. But that’s if he's a superhero. But, what if he was a villain? What then? What do I do?

WIP Update

I finally have a title for my WIP (Phoenix, FIre and Blood). I don’t want to spoil what the story has in store, but it’s about this guy Lucas, who is an average guy that gets pulled into the supernatural because of his friends and the woman that he loves. There will be vampires, merfolk, werebeasts, mages, and more. also, dragons and unicorns. haha. There will be friendship, betrayals, slow burn, angst, love, and deathS. There will be issues regarding mental health and other disabilities (which I have been continuously researching so I get it right). It’s an urban fantasy set in Chicago (because that’s where I currently live) and easier to write about, but will also feature other places like Egypt and Mexico.

I know I said I would update every week, but things happened that prevented me from updating. or you know, excuses. haha. but anyway, I am back on track, and will post daily, until I feel like I’ve caught up with all the weeks I haven’t posted. and hopefully, when I get in the habit, I would post daily and finish my WIP sooner. *crosses fingers*
