TURNS OUT THAT I’M SHIFTFLUID.
TIME TO MAKE A DEFINITION POST SO IT DOESN’T EXCLUDE NON-KIN ALTERHUMANS LOL.
I adore media analysis and find it one of the most fascinating things in the world to me; it’s unfortunate though that I can’t read negative analysis about certain characters from my sources without becoming distressed and angered by it.
Only with alterhumanity can I choose to psychologically become a large dragon-eating centipede from a bullet hell game to stave off gender dysphoria. Also, this “feral” full-body phantom shift is awesome.
The other night--at least I think, because admittedly I didn't want to consider it too much--I dreamed about watching the finale of RWBY V8. (Of the time of writing, I haven't yet. Purely out of fear.)
I can't remember whether it was in the dream-finale or not, but I know that I dreamed of seeing the rest of Team RWBY (Weiss, Blake, and Yang) in the afterlife, having ended up there after falling into the void of the paths to Vacuo.
This certainly isn't the only time I've dreamed of all four of us ending up in some strange liminal scenario, whether in the afterlife or limbo or some weird, Minecraft-void-esque space, like going outside the boundaries of a server.
I am not a spiritual person. I do not believe any of this can be chalked up to other-life memory or premonition. But I do wonder why my subconscious keeps coming back to this.
Wow, that last post got a relatively sizable level of interaction. Maybe it’s a sign I need to post more voidpunk thoughts. Or humor. Both? Both is good.
TFW you feel strongly and distinctly disconnected from and possibly even resentful towards humanity, but you also desperately want to protect the little group of humans you call your friends and/or family.
Cameo Shift Log
Presents as a head-area phantom shift. Rounded caribou antlers extending about a foot or two upward from top of the head. Ungulate skull covers top half of elongated head like a mask. Two long, slender canines felt on the edges of mouth, pinching the lips as if they extend out of the mouth like a musk deer. All of it is bone-white with an icy-blue tint underneath. Overall resembles the pop culture depiction of a w*nd*go, but with no desire for negative or harmful behavior. Tentatively classified as a caribou or snow spirit.
Today, when sitting out in the yard alone with the neighbors’ very loud dog opposite the fence, as I drew into a crouch and bolted behind a tree, I very much wished that our little suburban tract was a tall grassland as opposed to close-cropped turf.
I knew my scent was carrying—and all I needed to reach was the backdoor—and that for all that barking bravado, the dog could not reach me—and yet I still wished I could slink through a subtropical savanna on long legs and lowered posture. The instinct to assume a low profile and avoid territorial conflict was strong.
Tonight, I sat alone in the living room, illuminated by a screen and late Christmas lights, and debated the helpfulness of simply opening the backdoor and booking it into the night.
Without warmth, without grass, without wolf apples and rainwater. For a few minutes, the urge to run away from my problems overtook me.
I guess the first survival instinct of the maned wolf is flight.
