This annoyed me so much. I put so much time and effort into this and I was all stressed out and then these people just--
I know what those people who were touching my painting were thinking.
(Because acrylics dry shiny, like plastic, unless you use some kind of gel medium or additive.)
And they they TOUCH IT to see if it really is.
1. If it wasn't dry, WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD IT BE IN A GALLERY. (although considering a few other paintings I can understand why you might think it would be admitted even wet and unfinished)
2. If it wasn't dry, WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO TOUCH IT AND RUIN IT?! You'd have to pay for it, idiots! As it is, you already got oils and crap on it.
I was just really looking forward to this and some behavior just ruined it for me.
I work really hard on my works and...
And then these other "artists" a few years or maybe even my age are there with MANGA works?! And not even good ones?! And they come in t-shirts and take SELFIES?!
This is why I never tell people how old I am or that I am still studying art. Because of people like that that make all young artists suddenly stupid and immature, despite how good their works may be.
I have to fight against this prejudice and they're just furthering it.
I want people to judge my art on its own right, free of prejudice based on the creator.
And this was the one time I was ready, really ready, really wanting constructive criticism (usually constructive criticism can cause me to have panic attacks, actually) and I couldn't hear what people were saying and I didn't know who to ask for opinions...
