I listen to so many podcasts and started getting into them when I was like 13 and to this day I still feel like no one knows what I'm talking about even though they've gotten more popular, only like 3 people I know ever talk about them and like, bruh come on I KNOW someone had to be listening to podcastle in 2012, someone discuss this with me! My short story, Circle of Memories, is now up on Podcastle. I’m really excited about this because there have been a number of big names in the fantasy genre involved in or featured on Podcastle. I’m in great company here.
Circle of Memories is a lesbian romance story set in a world where magic is powered by memories.

“But Princess!” said the Knight, from the base of the Princess’ tower. His armor-clad ass was parked atop a huge black stallion, which the Princess found not only pompous, but entirely predictable. “You misunderstand; I’m here to save you from — ”
“Hold up,” said the Princess. “Exactly what part of girl-lives-in-her-own-goddamned-tower implies a need for rescue?”
“Well, I — ”
“Do you have any idea how many women would kill for a tower off in the wilderness? I am fucking blessed.”
“Princess,” said the Knight, “that’s all well and good, but this isn’t your place. You belong — ”
“Perpetually pregnant in a castle that smells like chlamydia? Pass.”
“M’lady, please. I only want what’s best for you.”
“Oh God,” said the Dragon, which in both size and shape resembled a hairless cat with wings. “Here we go again.”

“Now, listen here, Rokhl,” the demon began, but Yudah interrupted her.
“You and I both know that’s not my name, so why don’t you get it right?”
“Certainly it’s your name,” said the demon, irritably. “Did your father whisper the name Yudah into the ear of a mohel? Did he give you a bris? Of course he didn’t. That would have been ridiculous. He told the synagogue your name was Rachel bat Shemuel, and Rokhl’s what the Russians wrote down in their records, and that’s the name you have.”
The demon seemed awfully certain she knew what she was talking about. I turned to gape at Yudah Cohen, but he didn’t seem the least bit bothered. “So what? Did Isaac give his son the name Israel? No, he named him Jacob, but by his deeds he was given a new name, and his children were the sons of Israel, and nobody argues twice about it.”
“Oh,” scoffed the demon, “so you think you’re as good as one of the patriarchs!”
“I don’t think I’m any better than him,” said Yudah, “but I don’t think I’m all that much worse,” which is exactly the kind of thing you’d expect, from someone as cocky as my cousin’s husband. “And I might never have wrestled with an angel, but I won’t think twice about wrestling with a demon, if it comes to that.”

On Aging
Things I notice as I get older:
I only upgrade my phone when it's old, and I'm considering a dumb phone for some ocasions!
My laptop is now 5 years old and counting.
I read more RSS feeds than web sites, because the web has turned to shit with so much cookie consents, ads, and paywalls! Most RSS apps are shit, so I use my own Feedplay.
Most of my catching up with the news is actually through podcasts, even with a 12 hour iatus you can still get the gist of things. Most podcast apps are also shit, that's why I use Podcastle. Try it! It's free, and open source!
Sometimes I use mutt to check my email and wildcard all mails for deletion, so I don't even read them anymore, and I truly am a zero inbox guy!
Lost the ability to get up at 6 am, instead shifted activities when the sun is up and bright.
After losing my religion, I also lost my faith in politics.
I have quit using several social networks, including X.
I don't watch TV anymore, because it's turned to shit.
I don't listen to radio on the car, only podcasts - carplay FTW!
I miss old operating systems! Windows NT, and 2000 especially.
Next year I will turn 50, I hear that's when things turn to shit.
