One of the highlights of PodCon has been the super-serious journalist podcasters being SUPER confused by the McElroy and Night Vale fans doing cosplay.

In a panel talk, Roman Mars was starting moderating a discussion of facts and truth in podcasting. As he was getting started, he went, "Woah! There's a blue person. That's not distracting at all."

Later, he did a confused double-take as a person dressed as a Red Robe snuck out.

(it really was an accident i was talking to someone from earlier and then i looked behind her and realized griffin was right there and then looked around and realized there was a group forming around us...)

hey look i found the ONE cosplayer who wasn’t TAZ or otherwise McElroy-related and who also wasn’t one of the like idk five people doing Night Vale lol. but she was another one i forgot to ask about social media because i caught her after the closing show when everyone was getting their coats and stuff. as it was she was already missing her antlers(?) but her dress was GORGEOUS so i needed a photo even though i had no idea who she was. (someone from Critical Roll i think? that’s the name of that other D&D podcast right?)

oh yeah i caused griffin to make that face and it is amazing.
