#Poem2of5 - Origin The Flash Of lightning struck Through the window Super charged chemicals He was doused with The same way His uncle Barry was The same day He became The Flash Learning his powers The ins and outs Like circling his arms At certain speeds Could create twin tornados And put fires out No doubt he had lots to learn But he embraced Every lesson Every step On this journey Of a septillion miles Humility earned From a man he revered Idolized and respected Never neglected by Barry Allen showed him ropes That Wally West Would soar from the top of First as Kid Flash A founding member Of the Teen Titans Then he was the third Flash When Barry passed From a crisis that was infinite He inherited the mantle And from 86-2009 So many comics So many stories So much time That era was mine I grew up as Kid Flash grew I learned lessons with him About how to control My powers As a child As a human With untapped abilities Unlimited potential An imagination that's essential Along with aligning action To make this world better And becoming My best self In the process Learning People who do evil Are not what they do Learning To remember and cultivate All the good that exists Learning How to handle ailments Never to identify by them But remembering the cures Are sure to work When done daily To embrace his enemy As a friend Reformed criminals Became teammates And in the same lens He could see more Than who someone is But who they could be Put the work in The support in The compassion in To help what good he sees In a villain Become as real As reality But even more permanent What if I could see The world like that?
