Day 7: Poem Challenge
Day 7- Take a walk until you find a tree you identify with, then write a poem using the tree as a metaphor for yourself or your life. --------------------------------- I am old, I had to withstand the terror, And the harshness, That the world has shown me. I am tall, I have grown over animals, And beings alike, That scramble about beneath me. I am strong, I have a sturdy core, And a net of wide roots, That help support me for my size. I am nature, I have lush green leaves, And a nice brown trunk, That is just a part of the forest I live in. I am full of life, I own a collection of insects, And even mammals and birds, That live tickle the wood inside me. Yet I am still just a tree, I am helpless against fate, And I'm just one of many trees, When the chainsaw is thrusted onto my trunk.
