Wings
Their wings loomed over them,
Towering above their heads as they tested their wings,
Flexing them to ready them for flight.
Mine lingered at my sides,
Limp and dispassionately hanging.
While the other wings were great and brawny,
Mine were miniature and feeble.
They laughed and lifted their wings to the sky,
But I could only watch as they flapped.
Their bodies lifted into the air,
And the grass waved their good byes,
Whipping around in the strong winds from the wings.
Everyone left,
Leaving me all alone with these small wings,
And tears draining down my cheeks.
Four Leafed Clover
brown eyes open amiss the green fields
looking…
searching…
small hands fumbling about
back at home i could nearly hear the coughs,
the pained groans and the whisper of
"it hurts…
i don’t want this…"
wet blobs fall from my brown orbs,
but swift arms and hands wiped them away
the air gladly collected the droplets in the wind
one…
two…
three...
alas, i cannot find it
even though i knew this
i kept on
looking…
searching…
a man came in white
he had a beard and looked wise
he came into our home
he went to the sick
then he came to me
my hand hurriedly flew to my ears
no…
i don’t want to know…
he took my hands away,
and softly said,
“there are no four leafed clovers”
and my hands did not stop the overflowing of tears this time
Sing With Me
“Love me”
She cried out in profound joy.
I hugged her, loving her with all my heart, my heart.
I could hear her sing,
“Fa la la”
-
“Dance with me”
Her voice reverberated around her.
I twirled her around, caressing her in my arms, in my arms.
I could hear her sing,
“Tra la la”
-
“Sing with me”
Her voice wafted into my ears.
I refused to, refused to.
I could hear her sing,
“La di da”
-
“Live with me”
Was just the whisper of the wind.
But only my tears answered it, answered it.
Silence floated through the air.
“…”

Day 7: Poem Challenge
Day 7- Take a walk until you find a tree you identify with, then write a poem using the tree as a metaphor for yourself or your life. --------------------------------- I am old, I had to withstand the terror, And the harshness, That the world has shown me. I am tall, I have grown over animals, And beings alike, That scramble about beneath me. I am strong, I have a sturdy core, And a net of wide roots, That help support me for my size. I am nature, I have lush green leaves, And a nice brown trunk, That is just a part of the forest I live in. I am full of life, I own a collection of insects, And even mammals and birds, That live tickle the wood inside me. Yet I am still just a tree, I am helpless against fate, And I'm just one of many trees, When the chainsaw is thrusted onto my trunk.

Day 6- Write a poem of any length incorporating every word from your latest Facebook status. ------------------------------------ Today I met a bee while swimming, Sitting on my blue noodle. I said, "Hi bee!" Than swam away, Screaming my head off. ~Lionx (oh I know you would had swam away too if you had a bee on your swimming noodle =3= The poem is not unlike my status...)

Day 5- Write a three line poem about lemons without using the following words: lemon, yellow, round, fruit, citrus, tart, juicy, peel, and sour ————————————— Instead of a sweet tasty flavor of a kiss, I get a terrible foul, pungent taste inside my mouth.
