Last night I had a dream about you
It's been a long time since I saw you, or thought of you
You used to visit my dreams every night
I'd pick up the red phone
And I always knew you would be at the other end
We would just have arguments
Like the way we would in real life
We used to spend so much of each others time
And then one day we spoke for the last time
There was a silence about the way we spoke
I listened for the underlying concept
That has always been trying to surface up to us
And the tension went quiet that day
I went to sleep that night and the dial tone was dead
I think I took it for granted
The way our voices would paint emotion into our ears
They way your embrace stopped my bickering judgement
And your smell melted me up like a marshmellow
It's been a long time since I felt that
And it has been for you too
My body aches all over today
And I can't speak about how I feel
Because I feel you all over me
I feel you about to wake up
This feeling hugs me like an old friend
Who speaks to me in tounge through an imaginary phone when I am sleeping
And tells me that I've gone crazy
And the time will catch up to me one day
And I could all of a sudden be old
Maybe I will never see you again
not for a moment more in this lifetime
But we will always have this wierd vibration
We will always be weirdly in love
You are the irony that burns away my soap box image
And you have this little piece of me
I hear it sizzling inside of your mouth.
And today it's eating me alive.
