i'm always curious about race-specific foods, so do any of your ocs have a meal they really like?
Admittedly I still have to go deeper with my "food lore" for many of my OCs (my "on the table" list is... long), but I can rapidfire on a few things that are more or less tangential to your ask :'3
- Daunte's dam, Belva, spent her life in Flame as one of the females responsible for cooking for their camp. After being smuggled out of Flame along with Daunte and her unborn cub, she struggled to fit into the Blood Legion due to her trauma and complete lack of combat skills (any fight she had when younger was beaten out of her). She ended up working as a farmhand and cook in various outposts around Ascalon, and she was usually well liked in the later role due to the traditional Flame recipes she had adapted to the Legions' tastes. Eventually a norn hunter enamoured with her cooking befriended her and convinced her to work at her family's hunting lodge, the two soon became sisters-in-law. She still lives there (ignoring the trauma rollercoaster during s1) with her mate and adopted child, and she still makes spicy food that can melt the icy heart and butt of any hunter.
- Poffi grew up with her uncle Chegg and his golem-maintenance krewe/polyamorous pod, and she learned quite early how to cook with their help (note: Vonn was not allowed to be in the kitchen after the exploded pot accident). Mori in particular taught her a lot of traditional recipes and how to improvise with what was available, which proved useful after she started hunting almost by accident (she had to shoot down some animals that were tearing through a lab's supplies). She carried a little bag of spices and dried herbs almost everywhere after joining the Order of Whispers, and if nothing else was available, she was still good at improving regular rations for her team.
Her actual birthday is on September 7th, but it's been two years since I caved in and made my tall shy cinnamon roll in game.

50 Questions For Your Characters
Randomized it and Poffi came up!
7. Is your character good with kids?
5, 13, 18, 21 for Poffi
GW2 OC Questions: Combat Edition ⚔️✨ (full asks in link, using shortened ones in this post)
5. Are they good at fighting alongside allies or are they better fighting solo?
Unless we're talking about sneakily sniping someone from afar and getting the heck away before anyone can reach the spot she shot from, Poffi needs allies to be remotely effective in a fight, as her insecurity tampers with her potential skills in hand-to-hand combat.
That said, she's great at taking orders and rarely objects if not to raise valid concerns and observations, so she was a great addition to any team. She always felt most comfortable with her mentor (Nadine) and the rest of her team (Iotta and Tocchix).

13. Can they use magic?
I got a random BLC key drop while I was doing the new meta for the first time.
I can say I got platinum in GW2 now 😎
So, when I make new characters in game, I like to challenge myself to go as far as possible in the story/map completion without a single death. Then, when it happens, I take note and try to work it into their backstory as an injury or close call of sorts.
Well, today it happened to be Poffi's turn. I did in fact go nearly 50% of map completion without a single death, but then it finally happened in the silliest way: an accidental dodge as I was gathering cultivated herbs in the asuran home instance sent her down the cliff.
You can bet your ears that I worked that into her backstory as an accidental fall down a ditch next to her family's lab, back when she was still a progeny. She had learned how to cook quite early and wanted to make a nice meal for her uncle (who took her in after her mother died) since it was his birthday, and she finally got an idea when she spotted some rare herbs that were growing in a hard-to-reach place next to the lab. Well, she did manage to harvest them, but her foot slipped and she tumbled down the ditch. She was scratched and sore all over, but she had a mission and the herbs were successfully in her hand, so she climbed out of it, quickly medicated and cleaned herself after sneaking back into the lab, and then went to the kitchen like nothing had happened [because right after the fall I went and unlocked the last ascended recipes with her, since she's my second cook]. Poor Chegg got so scared when he saw his niece all bruised up that he didn't even get to taste the meal, but in the end she was fine and even got a personal herb garden in a corner of the lab out if it.
Yeah! Album Out now!!!!
