As soon as Audrey had heard about a fifties themed Soc hop she immediately knew she couldn’t miss her opportunity to attend. The blonde grinned from ear to ear as she glanced around at everyone in their vintage outfits, feeling oddly in her element, loving all things vintage. “ Is it just me or do you just love this whole idea? “ the blonde gushed. “ Makes me wanna grab a strawberry milkshake and listen to some Elvis. “ she giggled out.

While most of the time his parents insisted on keeping him away from the world, Cecil was almost forced to attend this silly little event. He had zero interest in dancing or socializing and found himself sitting in a secluded corner for most of the night thus far. He would occasionally glance upward and daydream. He would play this fun game where he would make up imaginary stories about passerbys. He was fidgeting with the hem of his shirt when he noticed someone was standing in front of him. “I hope you didn’t come to ask me to dance out of pity or something. Isn’t that the shitty cliche that happens in teen movies?” He glanced up at them.

Tamlin let out a sigh, looking over at the other. “Excuse me, but I’m sort of obliged to invite you to this small party being held. Masks are mandatory as well as classy attire. If you need help with find either of those, I suppose I can help you with that. I know not everyone has the means to buy nicer clothes, but she’s very insistent that a fair amount of people show up,” he said, handing out a small business card sized invitation embossed in gold.

john let out a heavy sigh as he fiddled with a pen in his hands. he had a request from his mother and he was to see it through or see her get disappointed again -- and he hated to see his mom like that. but, he didn’t know what was worse at the moment: seeing his mother’s disappointed look or asking someone if they wanted to hang out. he’d been given the typical lecture -- go out, have fun, be a regular teen and make mistakes. but he he couldn’t let himself make mistakes. “hey, did you want to hang out or something? it’s a saturday night and i didn’t have anything planned, so,” he trailed off with a shrug. this was beyond embarrassing.

“Hey, you want this?” Tina asked, approaching the other’s table with an extra,  untouched iced coffee in hand. “They got mine wrong and they were just going to throw it out, so I figured I’d keep it and win my good deed for the day,” she explained with a nonchalant shrug. “I’m not really a good deed type, but karma probably exists and I have a lot coming for me if I don’t start counteracting it now,” she mused with a small laugh. “All you have to give me is a thank you and maybe a compliment on my new shirt,” she said, stepping back to show off her crop top.

Susan knew his was a long shot, but it was one of the first ideas to pop up in her head. What better was to get your book known than by giving out a few free copies? Sure, she needed to actually earn money from the book to support herself, but that would be made easier if others read it and recommended it. “Excuse me,” she said, stopped at a table sat outside the local cafe with a small stack of books in hand. “Do you happen to like fantasy? I’ve recently gotten one of my books published and I wanted to give some out for free to anyone who might be interested. I think most people are into young adult dystopian novels lately, unfortunately,” she said with a small laugh as she delicately held out one of the books.

a pour formed on pugsley’s lips as his hand held his stomach. “this feels worse than that time wednesday made me eat a bag of worms when we were little,” he said, groaning slightly. “i don’t know what it is since i didn’t eat anything weird. or, much of anything at all. i would go see wednesday, but she’s not exactly the person to go to for comfort,” he joked. “do you have anything? or maybe you could, like, pat my head as i slowly die.”

a sour look was basically cemented to slightly’s face as he leaned against a wall, arms crossed over his chest. why’d he think it was a good idea to come to this when he knew he was going to be ignored by the one person he wanted to spend his time with. he tried not to pay attention to peter and tina together, but he couldn’t keep his gaze to himself. he let out a frustrated sigh, motioning to the couple’s general direction. “do you see this shit? we’re supposed to be in this fair relationship and this is the furthest thing from fair. how can he just push me to the side like this all night? this is bullshit. this is bullshit, right?” he asked, expecting the other to be on his side.
