Given her profession, Desare had gotten used to dealing with divas. While most of her clients seemed to trust her better judgement there were always a few that thought they knew best. One in particular, had booked her for a prom look and had accused her of trying to make her look like crap, while her mother yaped on in her ear. “ Look, if you think you know so much more than me, then why don’t you find someone else to do your daughter’s makeup. “ she finally snapped back at the naggy mother. With a huff she pulled her daughter out while threatening to leave a bad yelp, review. “ Don’t let the door slam you on the ass. “ she muttered, secretly relieved she wouldn’t have to deal with that any longer. As she turned to the other who had witnessed the little incident she rolled her eyes, “ Let me guess, you’re going to tell me how unprofessional I was, right? “
Izzy hadn’t initially expected to witness what she just had, but there was a part of her that found amusement in the whole situation. She never thought entitled customers like this woman actually existed and yet she was proven wrong. When the other finally left and she was addressed, she shook her head in reply. “Not at all, you were totally in the right to tell her off. If you’re providing your services for someone, the customer should at least treat you with respect. She was just being a bitch.” She explained. “You don’t put up with bullshit and there’s no harm in that. Which makes me want to book you even more… I was actually coming to see if you could maybe do my makeup for graduation. It’s a few days away and I’m kind of freaking out right now.”

“Hey, you want this?” Tina asked, approaching the other’s table with an extra, untouched iced coffee in hand. “They got mine wrong and they were just going to throw it out, so I figured I’d keep it and win my good deed for the day,” she explained with a nonchalant shrug. “I’m not really a good deed type, but karma probably exists and I have a lot coming for me if I don’t start counteracting it now,” she mused with a small laugh. “All you have to give me is a thank you and maybe a compliment on my new shirt,” she said, stepping back to show off her crop top.
Stephanie’s eyes lit up the moment she heard someone speak to her, always desperate for any sort of social interaction. A smile spread across her ruby tinted lips, “Unless that’s decaf I’m going to have to decline. I’m on a strictly iced herbal tea kick due to my sensitivity to caffeine. But, thank you so much for the offer! It was very sweet of you so I’m sure karma will still remember this.” She chuckled as she tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “Regardless, you look beautiful and your top is very cute. I wish I had the confidence to wear a crop top or something that was a bit more revealing. You’re inspiring.” She meant that in a completely genuine way.

john let out a heavy sigh as he fiddled with a pen in his hands. he had a request from his mother and he was to see it through or see her get disappointed again – and he hated to see his mom like that. but, he didn’t know what was worse at the moment: seeing his mother’s disappointed look or asking someone if they wanted to hang out. he’d been given the typical lecture – go out, have fun, be a regular teen and make mistakes. but he he couldn’t let himself make mistakes. “hey, did you want to hang out or something? it’s a saturday night and i didn’t have anything planned, so,” he trailed off with a shrug. this was beyond embarrassing.
ever since her family had moved to sparkwood, violet had isolated herself as much as possible. this led to her mother stressing out and her father suggesting therapy. she couldn’t handle either really. so the moment she heard the boy’s voice address her, she slowly looked up from her book of poetry that she had absorbed herself in. she was almost tempted to look around to make sure that he was speaking to her. “um… sure. i don’t really hang out with many people so i’m not sure what’s fun to do in town, but i’m up for anything you want to do.” even if it was sitting around and listening to music without actually talking to one another.

“happy pride!” joy called out, all smiles and rainbows as she stood at the street corner. she held a small clipboard as she attempted to stop passersby. “we’re such a small town, but we have so many diverse people – it’s such a shame we don’t have our own tiny pride parade! it would be so fun and we could make it like a little beginning of summer bash while celebrating everyone and who we are. if you wanted to, maybe you could help out with that? you could be part of the parade, or help out with it, or just support it? i even have some,” she said, reaching into her pocket. “some fun little stickers. would you like one?” she asked, holding out several stickers of different pride flags.
pryce was admittedly caught off guard by the other’s cheerful exclamation, brows furrowing slightly. as strange as it might have sounded to some, he had no idea what pride month was. the sovereign nation he hailed from was rather conservative and didn’t have any festivities that were similar. but, his interest was still immediately captured. “i would love to help out with whatever i can, especially when it comes to celebrating diversity but,” he paused, pursing his lips. “is this whole pride thing a commonly celebrated holiday? i’ve never heard of it.” he stared down at the stickers that were offered out, pointing at them. “are these supposed to represent countries of some sort?”

joan was fixing a small stack of papers as she finished up her lecture, having a certain love-hate relationship when it came to speaking at the local university. while she didn’t enjoy the students that zoned out or preferred to text rather than pay attention, she did like the powerful feeling that she was leaving an impression on some of the lawyer-hopefuls. maybe they would be more competent than half of her colleagues. she felt someone approach her, not bothering to look up to see who it was as she continued to put her things away. “what is it you need? i don’t have any sort of printouts, so you may want to ask one of the others for notes. if that’s not it and you don’t have a glass of wine for me, then i have to be off.”
with a constant thirst for knowledge, oliver found himself sitting in on some of the lectures that were offered to the students of the university. no matter the topic, he found his curiosity causing him to be drawn in. while he didn’t necessarily expect himself to find much interest in this particular topic, the way the woman spoke caught his attention. she had a way of carrying herself that made him interested. after the lecture had come to an end, he decided to approach her. a small chuckle of amusement escaped him in spite of her greeting, “i’m actually not a student, i’m a professor. as gripping as that lecture was, i don’t intend to keep you here with countless questions. in fact, i was wondering if you wanted to go out. we could definitely make wine be involved with this as long as i get to pick your brain a bit.”

Shirley had a late night class so it was pretty dark when she got out. The brunette didn’t like walking alone but was safe about it, but when she heard a loud thud she quickly without thought pulled out some mace ready to aim it at the others face. “ whoa sorry you just startled me” an awkward giggle left her lips “and your to tall to be a dog so yeah”.
Steve was known to go on late night jogs to blow off steam and tonight was no different. But all it took was one wrong step for him to roll his ankle and nearly fall to the ground. As he regained composure he met the gaze of a woman turning to face him with some mace. He put his hands up in defense, breath catching in his throat before she backed down and his body relaxed. “Holy shit! You scared me too! I’m sorry about that though.” He chuckled softly. “What are you doing walking around so late?”

strangely enough, pugsley didn’t make much note of the way the other’s eyes seemed to appear. he was quite used to his strange home life, so anything out of the ordinary weren’t much to him. but, what did make him weirded out was the out of the blue question. “uh, do you have me mistaken for someone else? i know i don’t usually dress up like this, but i don’t think there’s anyone else here who really looks like me. but, if it’s a serious question, i’d probably choose get out of here. i don’t like dances nor wasting time. i kind of want to get back to some of the projects i have going on at home. but, wednesday told me that i had to come here or i’d set myself on fire. again,” he over shared, missing the other’s point entirely.
before sebastian could even come back with another flirtatious quip, the other went off a rambling tangent. the cocky smile that he had previously worn had slowly dropped and turned into a blank expression as he listened to him speak. “you decided to come here just because someone told you that you’re not responsible enough to be alone?” yeah, he had definitely decided to chat up the wrong person. but at least this interaction might lead him toward some sort of entertainment. “what sort of projects are you working on that involve the risk of setting yourself on fire?” he was used to hearing about dangerous ideas, after all, he essentially was the product of one of his father’s own dangerous ideas.

The male that came up to Tina was certainly handsome, even if he gave her a weird feeling. She let out a small laugh, one of her shoulder rising in a one sided shrug. “Okay, first, I want to know what the hell is going on with those eyes of yours. Are you naturally magnetic, or is there something in my drink?” She teased, scrunching up her nose slightly. “Unfortunately, I have this boy that I have for the night and I don’t think he’d be too happy if I went or did anything with someone else,” she said, playfully poking the male’s chest. “If you can convince me, if I’m worth it, I’d contemplate it,” she stated. Though, whether she would hold up her end of the deal was still up in the air.
Of course, he decided to feign ignorance, a smile crossing his lips. “My eyes? What ever do you mean?” He had to stop himself from chuckling out of amusement. “I’d like to think of what I’ve got going for me as a natural charm but perhaps you have had a bit too much to drink, I can’t really judge.” He scrunched his nose up in a playful manner. He took the poke and glanced down at his chest, amused by the sheer fact that she had the confidence to tease him back. “A boy, huh? That’s a shame… but you know, it’s been a while since I’ve had a good threesome. Why don’t you bring him along for the night?” It was meant to be a joke with undertones of seriousness if she was actually interested in the offer. “I’d be happy to do whatever it takes to convince you.”

Tina’s arms easily snaked around Peter’s neck as they grew closer. She rolled her eyes, lips hovering over the other’s. “You think I care about Slightly or whatever he has to do to make himself feel better? If he tries anything with me, it’ll be worth it to be with you and put him back in his place,” she said, amused. “Though, you make this sound like some sort of privileged. Are you saying you don’t care who your with, as long as your getting attention?” She playfully questioned. Though, she did genuinely dislike having to fight for time with Peter.
Peter couldn’t help but chuckle before he gave Tina a delicate peck, “You sure do love seeing him miserable, huh?” He tilted his head to the side before allowing his hands to slip to rest upon the small of her back. “In my book, spending time alone with me should be considered a privilege but not because I’m desperate for attention.” He mused, allowing their noses to brush against one another in a playful manner. “I want to spend time with both of you. It’s hard to give one of you all my attention because I’m constantly thinking about you both.” It was hard to express his thoughts without sounding greedy or indecisive.

“Hey, you don’t have to be embarrassed. If anything, I should be the one embarrassed. I’m kind of breaking the rules because I’m both lonely and kind of a loser. But, you didn’t hear that from me and I’m not usually such a loser,” he teased, reaching out to gently take hold of Piper’s hand. “I don’t know how to do fifties dances, but we can just work it out together,” he encouraged with a wide smile. “Plus, you won’t need good dance moves to impress me or anyone else. You’ve already done that just by looking the way you do right now.”
Piper couldn’t help but chuckle at the other’s statement, finding comfort in the knowledge that she wasn’t the only person who felt insecure at an event like this. “You can’t consider yourself a loser when you had the courage to approach me.” She reassured him. She gave his hand a small tug before leading them out toward the dancefloor, cheeks tinted with a blush. “You’re quite the charmer, aren’t you? You just keep flirting and it makes me feel like I have to go the extra mile even more.” She teased, teeth sinking into her bottom lip. “How do you think we start…?” She giggled. It should have been easy but it wasn’t as simple as she thought.

sophie had a way of making astrid feel at peace yet daring at the same time. she was giving in to the those feelings she’d known about since her childhood but had buried in boys and marriage. sophie was kind and bright, much unlike the idiot she had wed herself to. seeing the other now only reminded her of just how perfect sophie was. “don’t be nervous and don’t be ridiculous,” she said, playfully twirling the skirt of her cherry red dress. “you are so much more beautiful. if there was a competition, you would be crowned queen for sure. my goodness,” she said, hands reaching out to frame the woman’s shoulders. “you’re treating me too much right now. i feel as though i should be buying you dinner, showing you off, bringing you gifts,” she said, hand moving up to gently touch sophie’s cheek. “dance with me, darling?”
despite being told how beautiful she was by her mother and three fathers, there was still a part of her that couldn’t quite grasp the fact that someone who wasn’t obligated to compliment her due to familial relations found her beautiful. it made her feel on top of the world and that was a feeling she never wanted to lose. at the mention of a potential competition, sophie shook her head in amusement. “psh, you are absolutely delusional but i’m not going to argue with you. but, maybe we can argue some more over dinner tomorrow.” she found herself leaning into astrid’s touch as if it was a reflex, cheek nuzzling against the palm of the woman’s hand before she gave a simple nod. “dancing sounds wonderful. i might actually be able to impress you by showing off my awesome moves.” living with her mother who was wildly talented had allowed her to learn a few things along the way.

Kim Shin felt a bit out of place in the theming of the dance, but he’d done his best to look like a ‘soc’ as a man of his age could without looking ridiculous. But, the moment he spotted Euntak, all those thoughts went out of the window. Euntak looked stunning. “Me? Ah, yes. I suppose I look alright,” he played off. “I’m not grumpy and sulky all the time,” he retorted with a scrunch of his nose. He was a bit overwhelmed by her excitement, but it was welcome. It was as if she could be his excitement for him. “We’ll take a picture if you promise we’ll dance eventually. You seem to be looking forward to everything but the whole dancing bit. Which is the point you know,” he playfully teased, tapping the girl’s nose.
“I’m not grumpy all the time,” Euntak mocked the other by making her voice sound as deep as possible while scrunching her nose up in the same manner Kim Shin did. But at the mention of dancing, her cheeks grew pink and she laughed it off nervously. “Oh? Is that the purpose of a dance? I thought it was the overall aesthetic that was most important.” Truth be told, she was embarrassed and unsure if she had the ability to dance. It wasn’t like she had many chances to dance before and no one had ever taught her anything. What if she was one of those rare individuals who were unaware of rhythm? “Fine, fine, we’ll dance after taking some pictures. Deal? You can hold me to it!” She held out her pinky for him to lock with hers. It was childish but she couldn’t help herself.

j.d. chuckled as the other dryly played along, a little pleased that the other didn’t get upset by the joke even if that would have been a bit amusing. “she is my future girlfriend, yes. she just doesn’t really know it yet, but i’m a patient boy,” he said, smile mischievous. “have to make sure no one gets in the way of that. if she finds someone else she thinks she likes, then it would take that much more work for her to realize that she and i are perfect for each other. you get that, don’t you?” he asked as if that wasn’t the most bizarre behavior and unhealthy way of thinking.
cecil was beginning to seriously doubt the fact that his guy and his supposed future girlfriend had even spoken before, but he wasn’t going to say that aloud. he wet his lips and nodded his head as a hum of agreement escaped him, “i definitely get what you’re saying.” no he didn’t. “what would you do if someone else took interest in her and swooped in before you got the chance to? i’ve heard public high school is a dog eat dog world.” he was far too amused at this point and his curiosity got the best of him. though he wasn’t entirely sure he was mentally prepared for the other’s reply.

Michael jumped back slightly when Jeremy spoke up, mouth falling open as he was both shocked and at a loss. He knew that Jeremy was starting to pull away from him, but he didn’t think Jeremy would ever directly push him away like this. “Wh-what?” He dumbly asked. “Do you even hear yourself right now? Who the fuck even talks like that? You’re not some villain in a high school sim. But, you know what, Jeremy? Fuck you. If you don’t want me to exist, then I don’t exist. But, the SQUIP didn’t make you cool it just turned you into an asshole. So, if that makes you happy, alright,” he said, voice growing low and shaky with anger. there were tears starting to line his eyes but he didn’t let them fall. Jeremy wasn’t worth them anymore. After everything, their friendship and other things included, his ‘best friend’ didn’t give a shit about him. He was just a stepping stone and it was finally hitting home for Michael. He’d given Jeremy too many chances.
Despite the primal satisfaction, Jeremy felt from pulling the ranks, there was something deep inside him that began to build with anger in spite of Michael’s rebuttal. Maybe it was the REAL Jeremy that was still there deep inside. His teeth gritted together before he shoved his once best friend to the ground, rage fueling the shove and putting more power behind it than he expected it to. He didn’t care who was watching at this point. “What the fuck do you even know about the word cool? You don’t know shit. You’re fucking pathetic and wouldn’t even know greatness if it hit you in the face.” He spat. “You spent all those years clinging to the idea that we’d go off to college together and finally make it? You’re never going to make it. You’re a loser now, you’ll be a loser in college -- and probably until you die. Stop fucking kidding yourself.” He couldn’t even believe the words coming out of his own mouth at this point. They weren’t his words. So why was he saying it?

Richard was pleased to watch the other settle down, already feeling a bit better about the oncoming distraction. “I wouldn’t say no to any possible help with finding an assistant. Though, I’m a bit curious about this novel? May I ask the subject?” He inquired, pushing his things to the side and readying himself to give the other his full attention. “I wish I had the patience and skill to write. But, with my injury, I’ve barely the mind to speak complete sentences let alone write them down,” he joked.
Bill felt his cheeks flush a bit as the conversation was redirected toward himself, rubbing his neck in a sheepish manner. “Well, I write horror novels mostly. It’s kind of a coping thing really. I’ve started writing a book inspired by my childhood but it’s a bit difficult to touch due to the trauma that revolves around the real event.” What inside of himself thought it was a good idea in the first place was unknown to him at his point. He tilted his head to the side slightly, “What injury did you suffer from? Not to be impolite, you don’t have to answer that question if you don’t want to.”
