Earlier today I started crying because Ash, who millennials might remember from the heyday of Buzzfeed YouTube, was buying his first suit as a man. And in this video he kept talking about wanting to be a “pogi boy”.
The fact that it came up more than once stood out to me, and I’m sure the video editor as well.
Ash had what can only be described as the cutest smile on his face right before he checked himself out in the mirror for the first time since donning the suit reiterating, once more, that pogi means “handsome, in Tagalog”.
And then his mom goes and says it, and she tells him it means handsome, as if he doesn’t know, as if he hasn’t been telling everyone, as if it wasn’t exactly what he needed to hear.
