I Will Fucking Piledrive You If You Mention AI Again — Ludicity
Every time I find a job that I think would be perfect for me to apply to it’s either part-time, a FTC or has the weirdest working hours in existence
Ma Convos
i was talking to my Ma today, and we were analyzing one of my close relatives life; she’s 33, single and working a dead end job.
after a full session of why’s and where’s and do’s and dont’s i realized stability is really important to me at one point i even told her “im expensive and i know i can support myself, if i have kids with someone im expecting them to support their offspring, and if they mine, they finna be expensive too”
i want the hometown, the community. The family home and every kid being born and raised in the same house. I want the boarding schools and travels, i want to never ever have to worry about money, and i’ll do that for myself regardless. if i have kids, the insurance is secured before the first trimester.
today ive thought about a friend ive (apparently) lost recently. we live really close so my neighborhood reminds me of her. my favorite drink and restaurant remind me of her. they conjure the vivid image of her hair and her eyes: big and deep and framed by the longest fullest eyelashes.
she’s left me before. but this time i think im strong enough not to go after her. this time i think im enough on my own.

Taking Count
According to Luke’s Christmas story, Jesus was born in Bethlehem instead of Nazareth as a result of a census. The Torah book of Numbers gets its name from the headcount taken of the Israelites at the beginning and end of their desert journey. Nehemiah makes a tally of the exiles as they return home in the book of Ezra. Counting the people is a way to judge resources, levy taxes, generate military conscription lists, and divide territory between different groups.
The point in time count is a special census conducted annually in an effort to identify the number of households who are homeless, sleeping either in emergency shelters, outside, or in makeshift shelter that is generally considered unfit for permanent habitation (cars, tents, abandoned buildings, railroad cars, storage units, etc.) on a single night. This data helps with planning for programs and funding for organizations that are helping people to cope with and hopefully rebound from homelessness.
While a portion of the count is generated by the operators of emergency shelters in our community and through the motels providing rooms through the general assistance program, there is a portion of the count that can only be accomplished through street reach efforts. Doing brief interviews with people during the 12-hour overnight count helps to create a fuller picture of what’s happening in our community and how people are coping without permanent shelter.
In 2019, Faith on Foot has been asked to assemble and lead the street teams for the count this week. Our experiences of engaging and building relationships with people who are experiencing homelessness will be valuable as we make an effort to engage our neighbors around some pretty challenging questions. If you are so inclined, please hold our team in prayer from 6:00pm on January 23rd to 6:00am on January 24th as we do our best to make sure that everyone is counted.
