THANK YOU people will flock to white villains because they’re ‘more interesting’ but then hate characters of color for having flaws. It’s just a racial double standard and they hide behind the veneer of some other arbitrary difference, because by the end of the day they’d rather empathize with a racist white guy than a well meaning yet flawed and complex character of color. And of course it’s a Belos fan who says it. 🙄
Exactly. Thank YOU for wording it so well, I couldn't have said it better myself even though I've attempted to many times before.
I remember seeing a TikTok once where someone said that alot of people who hate on Raine are Belos stans, and it's so true. I don't know what the specific correlation there is.
It's like, Luz and Raine SPECIFICALLY with these people. Maybe because they're the closest brown people to Belos's proximity idk.
I will never get people who kin the usually white villians that then proceed to shit on the other (again usually of color) characters. You rarely see someone who kins like, Vee, hating on other characters to make her seem better.
Worst part is me saying how wrong it is for people to purposefully mischaraterize non white in order to justify ignoring and hating on them got a response of "ERM, well what's so wrong with doing that???"
