Write a piece in which a character fights a pointless battle.
As much as I want to panic about the rise in purity culture regarding fandom spaces I also want to be practical about it. Because its not the causal fan who bemoans about stumbling on more of the fetish content or the anti woke mob I am scared of. They'll make a Tic Tok or You Tube video but usually have no legit power.
It's those with power who will use clips of those videos and then pass laws. Like censor AO3 or try to pass even stricker copyright laws. These are the dangers of purity culture.
Because remember, a polition would rather spend his or her time fighting moral panic's then actually deal with very real issues like homeless vets and public education. Why? Because fighting a real threat is a lot harder.
