I have to rant about something.

Why am I not allowed to like coffee if I can only drink decaf?

Not my fault I can't have heaps of caffeine so why can't I just enjoy coffee?

Jusy seen a sign outside a café saying "want to hear a joke? Decaf" & I see so many people going on about "what's the point in drinking coffee if it's decaf?"

So I just discovered that the Usborne Book of the Future has ended up online:

I remember reading that in the early ‘90s. It was fairly-dated even then - but seeing how 1979 imagined the future from 2019 is kind of wild!

Also, there are some surprising near-misses, like the wristwatch thing that is almost a mobile phone. And lots of strong AI but not much internet. (Funny how that one worked out, eh?) Then there’s the “dying planet vs green city” page, where they missed the third possibility - that we might manage to get rid of the really-overtly-ugly pollution, but do nothing about carbon emissions, thus leaving us on course for a prettier version of the dying planet.

The book is also very optimistic about human space exploration - perhaps rather more so than the intervening 30 years have justified.

Anyway, that was a unexpectedly-fascinating evening of internet browsing.

I feel like I should share this idk why but anyway earlier today Nicki (lashtonirmings) yelled at me for my tags about Harry wearing a butt plug and I said I’d write it for her to make her feel better about it and I got it started but then Harry had to go and be a LITERAL ANGEL on Instagram and it felt wrong to be writing filth about him when he’s out here making my heart palpitate with the word “All.” but when my guilty conscience calms down again I’m gonna try to finish it so be on the lookout for that soonish maybe idk
