&. ❛ god ain't watching here. ❜ for luda mae! | @poiscnbane
"God is always watching; everywhere, everyone." she older woman states simply, glasses not straying away from their focus on the countertops as she idly tidies up in the kitchen. "He has many things in this world t' keep His eyes on, and we are merely but a speck in that number."
Luda Mae pauses after dusting away some crumbs and drapes the old rag off the kitchen sink, "It may seem as though He has forsaken our family - with these hard times we've found ourselves in. House fallin' apart, business movin' for the cities...Folk movin' away and food bein' scarce to come by. But-" a smile creeps at the corner of the matriarchs' lips.
"If God felt our ways of keepin' this family - ourselves - alive and from starvin' were no good and rotten, sinful or shameful? I do believe He'd have done somethin' by now to stop us, don't you?" A small chuckle escapes her;
"God may not be watchin' us, dear. But he ain't stoppin' us, neither."
