5. Seeking Solace

When Budew settle for sleep, they gather in a pile of living foliage. They find fertile plots of soil, burrow their little feet deep, and nestle together in thick clusters, sharing warmth and soft laughter and murmurs of sweet dreams.

Sam settled by himself.

It had been a while since his last invitation to join a night cluster. Truthfully, though, it was less a lack of invites and more an unwillingness to accept the risk. He refused to admit how much it hurt to see all the new Pecha Berry sprouts.

Alone, he burrowed his feet and whispered "Sweet dreams."

3. Light

While everyone else celebrated their victory around the campfire, Sam slipped away into the shadows.

Black eyes fell to his petals, the darkness stripping them of their normally cheery colors. Now, he just saw them for what they were – weapons, deadly and deceitful, whose pretty appearance hid their true poison.

Suddenly, the darkness receded, and a startled glance showed Jaxx padding forward, star tail glowing with sparks. She didn’t bother to acknowledge him as she took an uninvited seat nearby. Silently, Sam watched the light from her tail draw color back to his petals, and he felt himself smile.

Some Pokederp ficlets

They’ve been running through my head like crazy, my pokederps. I want to do ALL THE THINGS with them, but 12-13 hour days leave me one tired Cray, so I have to get my kicks out with micro-sized portions. Hopefully these will be little glimpses into the derps’ lives and personalities...

These are from one of the 100 theme meme lists on Deviantart, but if anyone wants to send me prompts, I won’t say no!

Also, each of these are exactly 100 words! The challenge is quite fun!

1. Introduction

The trail of smoke caught her attention, and she groaned. It must be a record, she thought, jogging in the smoke's direction. Got a pokemon, lost a pokemon, and inadvertantly started a forest fire in my first hour.

A flickering light bounced off the trees ahead, and Via sped up, fearing the worst.

"Fight me you dumb ape!"

Sure enough, there was her gods be damned Chimcar, gripping his toes and spinning on his back with a gleeful flurry of smoke. His opponent, an unusually small Shinx sparking with fury, looked up as she arrived, frustrated.

"Make him fight me!"

2. Love

Her trainer? Yes.

She owed Via much - not only for her diligent training, but also for her trust, patience and courage. Though embarrassing to admit, she admired the human greatly.

Her team? Mostly.

Sam, definitely - aside from Via, the Roselia was for all intents and purposes her best friend. Pairoh, her rival, could even conjure some fondness. Stella? Far less so. Ursula and George she toleterated, which was high praise enough from the Luxio.

And Demon? Who thought himself charming and irresistible? The annoying Houndoom who dabbled in occasional thoughtful gestures and encouraging remarks?

Love him? Fat chance of that...

So, this fool @madamorphis was showing me her stupid Ronan and his stupid sexy tattoos and his stupid sexy chest and his stupid sexy hip bones (it’s always the hip bones with me) and I promptly told her he was mine. Maddy happily pointed out that he was single. And I set out to fix that. Hence, Eve the Glaceon.
