So I decided to make these dumb character bio things for the major players in my PokeGrumps AU (as I’ve decided to call it yes I know it’s probably been used before by someone else but shut up)! This first one is for Arin!
Since one of the rules of a Nuzlocke is you have to nickname all your Pokemon and I couldn’t think of a nickname for Arin’s Rowlet (because of course he gets the Rowlet), I just decided to go with Parrot because it’s another bird and I thought it’d be funny.
Fibo (Normal) -> Filbblepie (Normal/Fairy)
Evolves after hitting max friendship IF holding the mayor’s sash
Tribia (Ground) -> Trifemur (Rock/Ground) -> Lottabones (Rock/Ground)
Pokegrumps?
Wambaby (Grass) -> Wamboy (Grass/Rock) -> Troublehoss (Grass/Rock)

@basedsnax and @203y were talking about how this baby Wambus was like the baby form of a pokemon, so I went a little ham...
Gramberry (Fairy/Grass)
@/sketchinitoutc1 on twitter suggested this typing for Gramble!
The second PokeGrumps character bio!
I’ve been thinking more about how this AU is gonna go story and rules-wise. I still want it to be a Nuzlocke in that you have to nickname your Pokemon and they can die, but I don’t want to play through Ultra Sun four times over so I’m doing away with the ‘you can only catch the first Pokemon you encounter’ thing. And also most of the plot of Sun and Moon. I haven’t even beaten the Elite Four on my playthrough of Ultra Sun that I started two years ago yet you think I can beat the game as a Nuzlocke four times in a row? No thank you.
Dan Avidan’s Pokemon Team
Zelda (Zell, Zella, Zells) the Primarina
Stats
Nature: Gentle, Characteristic: Often lost in thought. Ability: Torrent, Gender: Female
Moves: Sparkling Aria [Oceanic Operetta with Primarium Z], Bubble Beam, Hyper Voice, Moonblast.
Backstory: Dan met Zelda when he was ten, and though he was laughed at by other kids his age for picking a “girly” starter, he began to raise her from a Popplio. Over time, she evolved into a Brionne, and seemed content to remain that way, something Dan never pressured her to change. One day, he went to the beach to take her to the ocean so that she could swim around after being cooped up all day. It was getting late, and the tide was coming in. Dan had gotten a little too close to the water and a giant wave splashed over him, knocking him off his feet and dragging him into the water. Dan tried to swim, but panic and fear of Sharpedos and other dangerous sea creatures overtook him, and he struggled to reach the surface. Just as he was about to give up, something grabbed hold of him and pulled him to shore. It was Primarina. Zelda had evolved to save his life.
Current: Zelda is a motherly Pokemon, often looking after younger Pokemon around her. Among Dan’s own Pokemon, she is the voice of reason, and will often break up small squabbles. She can move around easily on land by making bubbles for her to travel through, and she sometimes takes naps inside them. If not in her Pokeball, she sleeps in Dan’s tub. Zelda also sometimes performs during Ninja Sex Party shows, using her Moonblast and Bubble Beam moves to create a bigger spectacle for the audience. Occasionally, Dan will have her perform Oceanic Operetta. She has a purple sparkly cape that fastens around her neck, and she is extremely proud of it. Dan will often sing notes to her for her to repeat back to him to see if they sound good, and she comes with him to voice therapy for treatment, particularly after tours.
Molly (Molls) the Herdier
Stats
Nature: Serious, Characteristic: Good perserverence. Ability: Scrappy, Gender: Female
Moves: Tackle, Bite, Return, Snarl
Backstory: Dan met Molly as a Lillipup injured in the tall grass. He rushed her to a Pokemon Center for treatment, sticking around to see that she was going to be okay. After she was better, she wanted to stay with the kind trainer who had saved her life, so Dan caught her, and they began to travel together, Molly remaining loyal and protective at his side.
Current: Molly evolved into a Herdier and does not want to evolve into a Stoutland, a decision Dan respects. Molly likes to curl up beside Dan while he is working to provide quiet company. She can often be found resting by his feet, keeping watch. She will defend him to the best of her ability, fighting off any human or Pokemon that might cause him harm. She is as perceptive as Zelda to Dan’s changing moods, and often seeks to solve any problem by curling up in his lap. Despite being quite a small Pokemon, she keeps other Pokemon in line, ensuring good behavior all around.
Jackalope (Jack) the Lopunny
Stats
Nature: Sassy, Characteristic: Mischievous. Ability: Cute Charm, Gender: Male
Moves: Dizzy Punch, High Jump Kick, Baby Doll Eyes, Endure
Backstory: Dan met Jack as a Lopunny at a Pokemon Ranch. Someone had apparently abandoned him there for reasons unknown to the owners of the Ranch. Dan took a liking to the spunky, mischievous rabbit Pokemon, and asked the Ranch owners if he could adopt him (with Jack’s permission, of course). The Ranch owners agreed, and Dan got a Lopunny. He immediately named him “Jackalope,” but calls him Jack. Most people think “Jack” is short for “Jack Rabbit,” but Dan’s a nerd.
Current: Jack is a flirt and a troublemaker, delighting in playing pranks on people and Pokemon alike. It seems that he is also homosexual, preferring to flirt with Pokemon of his own gender. However, Jack is loyal to Dan, and in battle, he is a strong and capable fighter. He is even capable of carrying Dan, as he has shown during their adventures together. During a fight with a wild Houndoom, Jack’s ear was punctured by the dog Pokemon’s jaw. Jack embraced the deformity by wearing earrings. He sometimes performs during Ninja Sex Party shows, and wears a brilliant black and white sparkly bow tie.
Roxanne (Roxie) the Lycanroc
Stats
Nature: Bold. Characteristic: Somewhat stubborn. Ability: Keen Eye. Gender: Female
Moves: Accelrock, Stone Edge, Rock Climb, Sucker Punch
Backstory: While working for a Pokemon Training Camp, Dan was training a bunch of Rockruffs to get them “battle ready” for ideal combat. Roxie was rejected by her masters due to the fact that she wasn’t strong enough, and she was scheduled to be released into the wild. Dan had grown attached to her, however, admiring her fighting spirit and enjoying her personality, so he asked if he could take Roxie for his own. The owners said yes, and Dan left the Training Camp with a Rockruff of his own. Over time, Roxie grew and evolved into a Lycanroc (Day Version).
Current: Roxie has become like a service dog for Dan, often lying near him when he isn’t feeling well. However, Roxie hates her Pokeball, and will often jump out of it at random times. She will stubbornly refuse to go inside unless plied with blue pokebeans, her favorite snack. She is one of the most playful and energetic of Dan’s Pokemon, as she loves to play. She also loves to please, and her speed and agility make her one of Dan’s most viable Pokemon when it comes to battling.
Scamp (Little Guy, Stripes) the Pichu
Stats
Nature: Impish. Characteristic: Somewhat of a clown. Ability: Static. Gender: Male
Moves: Disarming Voice, Tickle, Thunder Shock, Lucky Chant
Backstory: Dan was gifted an egg by a Pokemon Breeder fan at a convention, and though taking eggs isn’t something he does anymore, or did very often then, he decided to try it out. The egg hatched into a Pichu after some time, and Dan immediately fell in love with the adorable little electric type Pokemon. He decided he was going to raise the little Pichu, and named him “Scamp” for his playful, mischievous behavior.
Current: Since Scamp is still quite young, he can’t actually battle without hurting himself, so Dan doesn’t train with him very often. Scamp is a mischief maker and delights in playing pranks on other people and Pokemon alike, though he is not as malicious as Brian’s Gengar, who is often responsible for making mischief around the office. Scamp likes to sit on Dan’s shoulder, which of course makes Dan’s curls stand up on end. He is a favorite of Dan’s little nephews, and delights in the attention from them, and children Dan comes into contact with through friends, like Audrey. He is a magnet for trouble, and often has to be bailed out by Dan’s other Pokemon, or Dan himself.
Bambi (Bam-Bam, Bamz, Bee) the Sawsbuck
Stats
Nature: Bashful. Characteristic: Alert to sounds. Ability: Serene Grace. Gender: Female
Moves: Horn Leech, Aromatherapy, Grass Whistle, Solar Beam
Backstory: Bambi was an orphan that Dan had been monitoring by his house for some time. She would curl up and wait for her parents, but they never seemed to return. Dan became concerned after seeing a half-eaten carcass of a Winter-Form Sawsbuck on the road in the opposite direction of his house, and decided then that the parents were unable to return for her. So, he took her in, especially because it was getting colder outside, and she didn’t have a protective fur coat to keep her warm. He named her Bambi, after the Disney character who lost his mom, and integrated her into his team. Despite being a little shy around Dan and wary of Molly and Roxie (especially Roxie, as Lycanroc are a natural predator), she eventually came around as part of the family. When winter turned to spring, she evolved into a Spring-Form Sawsbuck, though her coat will often change with the seasons.
Current: Bambi is rather shy around other humans, only really accepting Dan as a person to trust. She will battle, if need be, but she does not like to. Aloof in personality, she mostly stays away from other Pokemon, only really bonding with Dan’s and the other Sawsbuck that travel through Dan’s property. A malfunction in her glands means that she still produces the sweet scents she produced as a Deerling, which Dan finds helpful while meditating. Since she prefers to be alone with Dan, she is not often seen outside of her Pokeball, only coming out when directly summoned.
