Pokemovie Review - Pokemon 4Ever
This was another meaty one, really enjoyed this movie. It didn't deserve to be called the weakest movie of the original era.
PART 2
"I think you and Sammy will be friends forever"
"Hey!?! How'd professor oak know his name?"
"It seemed like it happened only yesterday"
STOP STOP IM ALREADY CRYING
I love how quick Ash is like "imma catch 'em all, but mother fucker, youre about to CATCH THESE HANDS" and just gets a grown man in a headlock
If he wasnt thrown from a 2 story tall walking machine, he might have been able to last longer, but it feels like maybe hes gotten some internal damage to go with the external....
"You're safe with me celebi"
Happy 23rd Anniversary, Pokemon 4Ever!

IMO, the introductory scenes to Pokemon movies 3-5 have some of the best bits of animation in the entire franchise. Between the kickin tunes, the choreography, and the sheer beauty of the scenery... it's hard to not view them as such.
Like, sure, the last few adaptations of the games into anime (XY, SM, and Journeys has amazing fight choreography - with special mentions to how the more simplified and "cartoony" style of SM allowed them to really stretch their muscles even in less action-y scenes like someone running along a beach.
But it can't really be understated how Spell of the Unown, 4Ever, and Heroes' introductory scenes bring the world to life while also highlighting aspects of the world of pokemon that elevate it from monster collection game to outright dreamscape.
The use of terrain in the battle with the Aipom trainer, the beautiful backgrounds and ship design in the scene with the Crocanaw's trainer, and the race through Alto Mare... it's a downright masterpiece.
