I saw some other users asking the tumblr masses to vote amongst their favourites and I wanted to take a crack at it too, since I tend to latch onto pokemon who are often unappreciated and/or obscure. I want to see how my favemons stack up against popular opinion, so please, vote to your heart's content!
For every type, I will be picking one Pokemon from each generation that I consider my fave of the pool. Once round one is over, I will be placing them into brackets to see which Pokemon reigns supreme overall! At the end of the tournament I will post my own favourites and show how they compare with the votes :3
Please reblog! And share all your love and propaganda in the tags/comments/replies!!

Size comparison - Bansheeon is the size of regular Eevee, Lanteon gets smaller upon evolution.
Fun "Facts"!
🪽 Aveon hunts like an arctic fox, but in the clouds instead of snow! It leaps into the sky, then pounces into clouds where it locates bird pokemon with its excellent hearing! Eevee gains this form by leveling up while holding the Flying Gem.
👻 Bansheeon with the Soundproof ability can use Perish Song and not get affected (this got patched out but I patch it back in 😈). Eevee gains this form by fainting while holding a Reaper Cloth - spooooky!
🪨 Eevee gains the ability to learn Ancient Power via TM, allowing it to evolve into this ancient form! With its powerful tail, Bludgeeon punches into the ground to pull up stones it uses as weapons - hammers, shields, and even projectiles!
🐉 Eevee becomes Drakeon after leveling up while holding the Dragon Scale. It is the largest eeveelution, full of boundless energy and a magpie-like desire to collect shiny things. Drakeon's purr soothes dragon-types, making it great for aspiring dragon trainers.
🐇 Eevee becomes Dusteon after leveling up while holding Stardust. Capable of burrowing rapidly and kicking up dust to blind opponents, Dusteon is a much trickier opponent than one might expect from its cute looks.
✊ Eevee transforms into Guardeeon after learning Detect or Double Kick via egg move/TM alongside high friendship. It controls its scarf-like appendages to attack from afar and manipulate objects, similar to Sylveon. Rather than fairy magic, it can sense and manipulate aura like Lucario.
🦋 Eevee becomes Lanteon after leveling up while holding a Bug Gem. Lanteon is part luna moth, part firefly. It can detach and control the glowing lights on its mane to lure prey or confuse a foe! Lanteon is even smaller than Eevee.
🧬 Mutateon was created when Eevee was exposed to a chemical called Mutagen E - formed from the DNA of Eevee, Umbreon, Espeon, Flareon, Drakeon, Lanteon, and Human. Ruthlessly intelligent hunters, Mutateon can alter its venom on the fly to be more effective against its foe, and some are known to mutate themselves into new types for a better matchup (Protean would lose its nerf for this generation 😈).
🤖 Titaneon was created in response to a rampaging giant Mutateon. In order to resist venom, recovered alien technology was used to outfit Eevee with cybernetic armor. After growing to giant size and defeating it in battle, Titaneon gained Mutateon's respect and the two became friends. Titaneon is inspired by Ultraseven, whose capsule monsters inspired Pokemon.
Hopefully you enjoyed at least one of these pocket monster ideas! Have a great day! ❤️
Do you have strong opinions about whether Skitty or Delcatty is cuter? Ever wished that starter's forgotten middle evolution got more love? Want to pit all the Eeveelutions up against each other for the hundredth time? Then this is the blog for you!
Welcome to Evolutionary Family Feud!
This is another 'vote for your favorite Pokémon' poll blog, but specifically comparing popularity between members of the same evolutionary line or family!
'Favorite' can mean anything you want- design, lore, usefulness in battle, nostalgia, association with a particular instance of that species in any Pokémon media, or just pure vibes! You don't even know have to know anything about it (or Pokémon in general.) But if you do have a reason for your vote, let your voice be heard! Tags, comments, add-ons, asks, etc. are all most welcome, whether it's propaganda or pure excitement.
More detailed information under the cut:
General Info/Tag directory:
Main poll: polls comparing Pokémon that are related by evolution. These will be tagged by region.
Sub-tags for organization:
2 stage: in which one Pokémon evolves into another
3 stage: in which one Pokémon evolves into another, which in turn evolves into another
2 stage (branched): this applies regardless of how many evolutionary branches there are. So for example, Eevee’s family would be in here. I'm also counting Nincada's family as branched for my own sanity.
3 stage (branched): same clarification as above. It also doesn’t matter if it’s an early branch vs a late branch, such as in the case of Wurmple’s family vs Oddish’s updated family, or if it’s lopsided, such as in the case of the updated Applin family. These will all count as 3 stage.
Cross generational: used to denote polls in which some of the family members posted are originally from an earlier generation, but a new member or two has been added in this gen, warranting a new poll now. See below for more info!
Special poll: anything other than a main poll, intended to give love to Pokémon that otherwise wouldn’t get to compete. There are several sub-categories:
Found family poll: Pokémon that aren’t related by evolution, but have a different sort of clear connection. (breeding, lore, dex entries, etc). I may or may not use sub-tags for these micro-categories as well
Biodiversity poll: Pokémon with no relatives, but that have multiple forms. These forms can be temporary (ex.
Wishiwashi), manually interchangeable (ex. Oricorio) or permanent (ex. Squawkabilly)
Neighbors poll: Pokémon with no relatives or other connections (current to that generation), but that are simply next to each other in the dex. Nobody should be lonely <3
Silly poll: Pokémon with no (current) relatives, buddies, other forms, other solo neighbors, anything. These polls are just several random pictures of the Pokémon competing against itself. Essentially, this is where I really start to have fun and be goofy
Extended family: comparison between different regional forms of the same mon. I'll decide exactly how I want to run these once I get to Alola. Maybe gather some input along the way. Stay tuned!
Addendum poll: should be rare, but occasionally I'll want to ask a unique followup question after a main poll.
Cross-Generational Families
This blog will go through the National Dex in order... with some partial repetition and occasional oddities. Certain evolutionary families are quite complicated!
Sets of polls will be posted generation by generation, and for authenticity, each set will only acknowledge the Pokémon that existed at the time. (Every Pokémon without a main poll will receive some type of special poll for fun, to acknowledge and celebrate its existence.) This means some Pokémon/lines get multiple polls at different points in time!
Ex: Chansey had no evolutionary relatives in Generation 1, so it doesn't get a main poll. In Generation 2, it'll go up against Blissey but not Happiny. In Generation 4, all three will go up against each other.
Ex. Pikachu vs Raichu will be posted in Kanto, and Pichu vs Pikachu vs Raichu will be posted in Johto.
Why do things this way? A few reasons:
Solves the conundrum of not knowing whether to post cross-generational evolutions early, or to post their 'older' relatives late. It isn't so much about how old the Pokémon is, but how old that specific family lineup is. For example, Girafarig is very old, but its evolutionary line is very new. I like going in order, and I don't mind showing you the same mon multiple times!
Appeal to nostalgia. For example, maybe Umbreon used to be your favorite Eeveelution before Sylveon existed, and you want to honor that somehow. Now it gets at least two polls to shine before Sylveon is even an option!
Solves the 'upcoming new game' problem. If Legends Z-A introduces any cross-generational evos, regional forms, or entirely new lines, I don't have to worry about going back and changing polls already in the queue. Plus, some people might not want to be spoiled on these. If they exist, they didn't exist until Gen 9, so we won't be seeing them for months!
Like cross-generational evolutions, regional forms will only be acknowledged once we get to that region. They'll otherwise be part of normal main polls and are subject to the same potential redundancies (for example, the 'Alolan Pichu line' will be a matchup posted in Alola even though only one of the members is actually new and Alolan.) Just in case!
Other miscellaneous info:
I'm going to run this poll blog without my own personal bias, but I will absolutely be reblogging polls that I have a strong opinion on to my main, @goldensunset. So catch me there (or just open the notes section) if you wanna hear me yelling like a maniac! I am. not used to being this professional. im not even used to typing with proper uppercase letters pls save me
Propaganda, asks, comments, adding onto polls, any form of interaction is very much encouraged! Please note: I don't mind negative comments or anti-propaganda for a Pokémon at all. That said, if it's mostly negative or takes it too far, I likely will not post it visibly on this blog if submitted to me, in the interest of not raining on someone else's parade. So try to keep it within the notes section of a post!
This also goes for potential spoilers. I won't post or reblog anything that so much as hints at spoilers for Legends Z-A for many, many months, but I can't stop anyone else from saying anything on my posts, for that or for any other game. If I get an ask mentioning what I determine to be a plot point in another game, I'll post it but probably tag it somehow. Just be aware that if you look in the notes section, the mention of a certain Pokémon might call to mind an important plot point in a certain game. You never know!
