Day 9- Poliwhirl and Red
I've figured I should include at least a couple of anime/videogame characters in the inktober for variety sake. Here we have Red and his first Pokémon, Poliwhirl on the beginning of their journey. Unlike the original card, which was Mato's artwork being retrofitted for Yamamoto's style, this one is purely Mato. Too bad she never did anything for the series again, not even guest artwork for its anniversary. Tendonitis must suck, I can hardly imagine how terrible it would be if I also developed that. This is also the only card so far to actually change text for the alt costume. I mean, it wouldn't make sense to still call it a Poliwrath when it's obviously a Poliwhirl. But anyway, currently the PokéSpe manga is finishing the Diamond and Pearl chapter, which just leaves two more until they loop back to Black and White, which was the first saga ever published here in Brazil. What's more interesting? Next year the manga's Brazilian run will turn 10 years old! I'm not sure if they'll do anything big for it, but I can dream. Property of the Pokémon Company
