I used to get really frustrated when I wasn't learning pole trick and trick after trick but tbh I don't even remember the last time I worked on a new one. Who has time??????
You know, for a while , I was getting so discouraged about performing because I was getting so sweaty and frustrated because I'd start slipping everywhere half way through, but now that I found a good grip aid, I am remembering why I love performing and why I want to compete. Last night my instructor called everyone in the studio into the pole room to watch my piece and its just such a rush performing for others and hearing people be impressed with what I am working so hard on is so rewarding. I feel like I can win now. I can win this competition.
ive literally been listening to music for 2 and a half hours and I have yet to find a single song i want to dance to for competition. ugh.
I made it into Melee!!!!
My audition video was NOT good. Like it was definitely better than last year when I didn't know how to dance but damn like I was pretty upset with it I almost didn't submit! I guess the choreography was interesting enough to get in though! I'm going to blow their socks off :~)
POLE ADVICE PLS
So I'm auditioning for a competition. The audition rules simply state that it must be under 3 minutes. I have to film this Sunday. There isnt much wiggle room since I work and I'm in class and I have to find a time to film when I can have the studio to myself. I only have 1:30 choreographed. I can maybe make it to 1:45. Has anyone had to do something like this??? What were the results?? I need serious advice because I'm freaking out. I don't want my end choreography to be weaker than my starting.
on the bright side
Perks of being the favorite and only competing student:
- Getting free bottles of tite grip when you lose yours
- Being allowed to use the pole room during other classes
- Getting to come in after hours to work on pieces
- A free private every once in a blue moon
- Pole classes are sometimes molded around my choreography so I can work on my stuff in class
I may be super stressed out but my studio is amazing to me and I know they won’t let me fail.
For real though. WereJUST finishing the routine this weekend. Fuck fuck fuck and I need to work on miss texas pole star and study for finals. Fuck.
