The Moon and the Stars (Morning Star, Moon, Pole Star, and Evening Star) by Alphonse Mucha (1902)
Fixed Star Vega or Alpha Lyrae
Did you know that Vega, which has gone by many names over the centuries, used to be the pole star?
Now it is known as the brightest star in the constellation of Orpheus's magical Lyre.
This star was the very first ever photographed after our own sun.
Finally finished (after the original file corrupting, then Art Fight happening, then health issues making drawing slow and painful) my take on Alphonse Mucha's Pole Star. Sort of a study, sort of a DTIYS? Feel like she's come out a bit "Mucha, but make it Disney", which I might be okay with.
I could do more rendering, but I really want to move on so I'm calling her done (for now).

POLE STAR Vol.7
"Pole Star" manga series vol 5 cover by "Harekon" creator NON
Human Drama about a teenage girl and her mother moving back to their hometown, where the girl learns that her chubby, overly naive mom was once a revered pole dancer in ther past. But not only that, after seeing her mom dance on the pole for the first time despite being out of shape nowadays, the passion displayed on her face fascinates the girl in a core-shattering way.
... pole star ...
This is the guiding ‘Pole Star’ (1902), from the ‘Moon and Stars’ series, who floats motionlessly in the sky. She radiates a strong light from her hands while numerous stars circle around her, creating a luminous circular trail.
