Another accordion
Many years later, after Ted was forgotten, my uncle came to visit from Polkaland. He brought with him an extremely beautiful specimen. He played that accordion for most of the first evening he visited us, which led to him having to get a hotel for the remainder of his visit.
During his stay, I learned the basics of the accordion and even managed to play a basic tune (Dark Side of the Moon, Side 1). It was an eye-opening time for me, and I decided I would pursue the accordion as my primary instrument.
This led to the 'accordion renaissance' that defined my early twenties, ushering me through clubs, bars and museums as I worked on becoming a better accordion player.
