Heard that Parasite is very cutting social commentary on South Korea wrapped in a little heist/horror movie, and I trust East Asian horror directors to make tight, well-paced shows with incredible tension.

(I didn't watch it because I'm a wuss when it comes to horror)

I am also a bit of a wuss when it coms to horror stuff.

Which is one of the reasons that I haven't seen Sinners yet. (That and the fact that it was limited release, and I am bad about venturing out of my comfort zone in terms of going to venues that aren't in my neighbourhood...)

But maybe I'll give it a try on streaming! That way, I can nope out from the comfort of my own home if it gets to be too much.

your presentation polls have got me pausing and thinking. "okay at the time this character was being written... and within the genre- romance masculine looks VERY different from like, sportsball masculine... and do we take in what we think the character is aiming for themselves, or just what the final result is to the viewer?" and then i look at the results and judge everyone's choices even while acknowledging there's tons of wiggle room for most of these lol

Haha! One of the hardest things about any polls of personal interpretation is how we ourselves want to interpret them. I definitely intend to convey how the person taking the poll views them, where they slot them in their own mind, but I get that even that can get tricky, and people get to read fun fandom polls however they have fun with it! My joke 'results' answer for Gideon of "Swords" has gotten a lot of responses because they generally think Gideon herself would just say swords when asked about her gender, and like, FAIR. She would! I honestly couldn't totally guess at what gender feels like to the individuals within that universe. But *I* see her as absolutely a butchey butch! So that's my answer on that poll! It's fun to play with in general though, which was why I felt compelled to make hopefully fun polls about it!
