Okay! Happy things:

Most days during Christmas Holidays I had breakfast with a variety of teas plus a piece of pandoro. It was heavenly. Especially the strawberry one.

I've just finished making a pochette from scratch because I needed some place to put my make-up. I'm so proud of it! It looks exactly as I wanted, and I've been holding it as if it was a tiny bebé ever since I finished sewing it yesterday evening.

Like, anything BBC Ghosts related makes me happy. I've rewatched some episodes from the last season with my mum during the holidays and 4x04 had me emotional again. Such a feel-good show!

I've seen Nephew and Niece recently! They are so grown up now! I hadn't seen them as much as I would have liked these past few years, because of COVID and all, but Nephew is now taller than me, my gosh. How does that happen. I'm very proud of him and of his growth, but also I remember you when you were a little baby and laughed at my silly faces, stop that.

Making and sharing the Agents of MOVIES's 2nd Film Festival made me very happy! Everyone on that server is lovely, and watching movies together with them is a joy (especially when the movies are bad), so collecting our ratings and comments in a slideshow was good fun!

Hi, just poppin’ by to thank @j-keery, @pollodigitale, and honestly I don’t remember who else suggested me to watch Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, because it’s phenomenal and visually beautiful, and I am in love with it, and I also got emotional, and I realise I only just watched the first episode, but bear with me. Are you named after anyone? Nope, but my grandma had an aunt also named Valentina. All I know of her is that she never got married, but tbh what an inspiration.

When was the last time you cried? LOL, literally 10 minutes ago, because I decided to watch the last two episodes of DuckTales and they were so sad. Ugh!

Do you have kids? No!!

Do you use sarcasm a lot? Sure I guess, sometimes, when the mood requires it.

What’s your eye color? Green.

Scary movie or happy ending? Always comedies! But I don’t mind a horror comedy, sometimes.

Any special talents? I am good at knitting...?

What are your hobbies? Knitting, reading, and procrastinating.

Do you have any pets? No, but my brother has a dog and I’m plotting to steal her. It’s a very lousy plotting, though. It might take years.

What sports do you play/have you played? Bold of you to assume I care about sports. I mean, I should. But I don’t.

How tall are you? 1,70m -ish?

Favorite subject in school? Literature, Art history, English.

Dream job? The usual dream of opening a bookshop, but realistically, just being hired somewhere would be fine rn

Hello! I was tagged by @pollodigitale to list my ten favourite movies: thank you very much!! I know already this will be very hard so bear with me.

A little disclaimer: there are a lot of posts in the #movies tag on my blog about how [name of film] is the best movie ever, but it’s because I love being nostalgic about my childhood. These are probably the ones I remember most, or I like to rewatch from time to time:

Pride and Prejudice (2005, dir. Joe Wright) - I mean, obviously. I will watch any kind of Pride and Prejudice-esque story you’ll throw at me. This one is one of the prettiest versions there are. Just, have you seen the colour palette?

Jab We Met (2007, dir. Imtiaz Ali) - I watched this film twice in 48 hours. I waited at least one day after the first time because I didn’t want to seem crazy. It’s the story of how Geet and Aditya meet and how they will revolutionize each other’s lives. It’s very cute and it’s produced by Bollywood, so there is going to be Music.

The Decoy Bride (2011, dir. Sheree Folkson) - As you, my followers, probably know by now, I am a sucker for romantic comedies. Now, this one has: David Tennant, Kelly MacDonald, Scotland, some very good humour and some very good writing. What more can I ask for? It’s a Gold Fave if that’s a thing that exists*. (*It’s not.)

What We Do In The Shadows (2014, dir. Taika Waititi, Jemaine Clement) - A horror-comedy pseudo-documentary about the daylife of vampires in Wellington, NZ. It’s hilarious. And I know I say hilarious for most things**. But this is Worth It.

Howl’s Moving Castle (2004, dir. Hayao Miyazaki) - From the novel by Diana Wynne Jones, a Studio Ghibli film about a wizard and a young girl who try to overcome the obstacles created by their own pride or lack thereof. It’s beautiful, and I always cry, and watch the Art that are the background paintings, ugh! I love this movie a lot.

Becoming Jane (2007, dir. Julian Jarrold) - The story of a young Jane Austen and her (probably fictional) fling for the lawyer-to-be Tom Lefroy. Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy are Perfect and the OST is absolutely beautiful!

Citizen Kane (1941, dir. Orson Welles) - Yes, this is a movie I like a lot! Charles Foster Kane just died, right then, at the beginning of the movie. People heard him saying a (apparently) meaningless word, and the press decided to investigate his life to understand it. It’s very well directed and it’s a genre I didn’t know I liked until I saw it.

The Emperor’s New Groove (2000, dir. Mark Dindal) - Listen, I have no idea what my Actual Favourite Disney movie is. It’s probably Mulan. Or Lilo and Stitch. When I was little it was definitely Beauty and the Beast. But I know The Emperor’s New Groove BY. HEART. Both in Italian and in English. And it’s flawless. And it’s hilarious**. I have the DVD and I try to watch it every year. (I also like to watch Mean Girls and The Rocky Horror Picture Show every year. I don’t know if they can make the list: I’m already at number eight.)

Hairspray (2007, Adam Shankman) - This is a musical about an overweight girl who wants to make her dreams come true. Also Queen Latifah singing “I Know Where I’ve Been” gives me goosebumps every single time. (A musical I hate to love and love to hate is the 2005 version of The Producers: also hilarious**; also on my annual watchlist.)

Thor: Ragnarok (2017, dir. Taika Waititi) - I’m making this list as I go, there probably will be a honourable mentions paragraph at the end, but this movie is my Favourite Marvel movie Ever and you can’t fight me on that, because favourite things are subjective. (Also, nothing is objective: we all have a biased view of all things and therefore normality does not exist.)

OKAY! I’m done. Other films I like: 13 going on 30, The Man from UNCLE, Austenland, Set It Up, Rachel Getting Married, Ghostbusters (2016), Game Night, Molly’s Game, Crimson Peak, Happy-Go-Lucky.

So, I cheated and mentioned more than twenty movies in this list, I hope you didn’t skip right to the end, even though I can’t really dictate your life and I wrote already too much anyway.

Runaway - Avril Lavigne [ spotify | youtube ] This whole album is one of my favourites. It's genuinely fun! This song is also quite cathartic, and I loved it since the first time I heard it.

Dreams - The Cranberries [ spotify | youtube ] This song sounds just like being in a dream! Made me emotional many times in the past and promises to do it again.

Strawberry Fields Forever - The Beatles [ spotify | youtube ] Probably my favourite Beatles song. It sounds lovely and its lyrics basically say not to worry, which is always good to repeat to oneself if one is anxious.

พลังวิเศษของคนไม่พิเศษ (Everything is Magic) (From Cherry Magic TH) - New Thitipoom [ spotify | youtube ] Let me add this one to the mix because between Cherry Magic every saturday and my jukebox brain, it lives in my thoughts permanently these days.
