@pollusavem.
“ Me? ”
A bright smile stretched across her features as she wrapped her little arms around her father’s neck. She liked spending time with him, liked these little conversations where she didn’t have to share his attention with anyone else.
“ I wanted you too, Daddy! You’re the best daddy in the world. ”
‟ You. ”
His arms wrapped around her immediately, drawing her into a tight embrace as her words sank in. Coming from anyone else they might have indeed been a compliment, but hearing words of such praise and approval from his daughter herself was almost overwhelming. She was the one person in this world whose opinion mattered most, and Jack would spend the rest of his life continuing to earn it.
‟ Ah, but the best daddy in the world would be nothing without the best daughter in the world, now would he? ”
@pollusavem.
“ Mum says that all the time. Well, actually, she says we should never settle at ALL. She always tells me that the world will try to underestimate me but that I should always prove them wrong. Is that what you do, Aunt Anamaria? ”
‟ Your mum knows what she’s talking about. Never settle for anything less than what you DESERVE, Emma. If that means you have to kick and yell to ensure that someone takes you seriously, then it’ll be worth it in the end. Boys hate it when a girl is better than them. ”
@pollusavem continued from HERE ;
There were FEW things left in this world what brought him a smile the likes of which Miss Emma could. Gibbs HOISTED the girl to his shoulder ( though he was CERTAIN she’d been much SMALLER the last time they’d met ) beaming up at her once she’d settled. “ Why, we’ve been ALL over, love -- we interrupted a SUGAR trade, as any GOOD PIRATE would; we, er... we DANCED in Singapore; but d’ye want t’ hear th’ BEST part? ”
@pollusavem.
“ I was trying to find the hiding places daddy told me about. He said he used to hide around the Cove all the time. ”
“ I see. ”
She couldn’t help the slightly amused smile upon her lips as she nodded in understanding. The similarities between Emma and her father were so glaringly obvious at times that Elizabeth wasn’t sure whether to feel concerned or entertained.
“ I don’t suppose you’ve managed to find any? ”
