── FAMILY DINNER. two words that, no matter how many times they heard it, caused a loud chorus of groans.

after the "incident," as they all referred to it, it had taken a long while for things to cool off, and things were finally back to normal. or, well, as normal as things could be in santa carla.

lucy had agreed to become a vampire. mike and star, too. sammy would wait until he graduated, and laddie would wait until he was older. the frogs.... well, the frogs were supposed to be dead meat, but after much nagging from max, the pack had (very) reluctantly backed down.

the emersons and the pack coexisted in whatever twisted fantasy of a happy family that max held, though they still remained two separate groups. the only thing keeping them tied together was max.

and family dinner.

the invitation was always there — lucy was a gracious host and she loved to cook, but the boys only ever accepted every few weeks and only at the behest of max. at least once a month, the pack would come over to the emerson house, sit down at the table with everyone else, and eat. it was typically some semblance of awkward. there was always tension so thick you could cut it with a knife; between star and david, the pack and sammy and the frogs, max and the pack.

it had gotten better over time. less awkward, less uncomfortable, as everyone settled into their new normal.

tonight was going slightly better. lucy was (trying) to teach paul how to use the oven without starting a fire, sammy and the frogs were challenging dwayne and marko to a game of cards (which the former were losing, badly), star, laddie, and michael were off in the basement watching whatever was on the tv that max had bought, grandpa and max were discussing something in the old man's taxidermy room, and david...

david was sat outside on the porch, brooding. if anyone had called him out on it, he would've disagreed firmly — he did not brood, he was just smoking a cigarette. but he was definitely brooding. he was leaning just beside the doorframe, cigarette dangling from his lips as he stared out at the dark sky. the moon was bright, casting shadows across the drive. something was off. he felt it. he didn't know what it was or what it meant, but all day there'd been a strange nagging feeling in his chest that something was going go happen today.

he puffed out a breath.

lucy popped her head out of the doorway. "food's ready," she said, a sweet smile on her face. she didn't act like the pack's mother, and she didn't want to be, but that was just her nature. she liked them well enough to be kind.

he nodded, tossing the smoke to the ground and putting it out with his boot. "thanks, miss e."

he followed her back inside to the dining table, which was laden with their dinner. he had to admit, as much as he hated family dinners, the food was great. the table was piled with plates — spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, the works. everyone was helping themselves as he took a seat next to marko at the end of the table.

he caught alan's eye, and the younger boy paled slightly. no matter how long had passed, no matter if the pack had backed off, the frogs were still always a little terrified they would renege on their word.

david smirked.

dinner was fine. laddie informed everyone that he had learned how to multiply by twelve. paul was shoveling his food in his mouth like an animal as usual, marko eating in a slightly more civilized manner. sammy complained about gym class. dwayne chatted quietly with michael about motorcycle parts. star and lucy were engaged in their own conversation.

when most everyone had finished up (save for paul, who was going back for thirds), max cleared his throat. everyone turned to look at him. he set his napkin down, folding his hands as he started to speak.

"i figured, with everyone here, it would be a good time to share this." he looked around at the rest of the table.

dwayne glanced at david, who shrugged imperceptibly. he had just as much an idea of what their sire was talking about as the brunette had.

"being a family is important to me," max began. everyone groaned. they'd heard this speech thousands of times before. "and i value each and every one of you."

"we get it, dude, we don't need another speech," paul grunted, his words muffled by the mouthful of pasta he was actively chewing on.

sammy wrinkled his nose in disgust. "close your mouth, you pig," he said, frowning at the blonde. paul held up his free hand, middle finger up.

max held up his hand. "michael, sam," he continued. "you know i see you as my sons." he gestured to dwayne, marko, paul, david. "my boys as well."

marko rolled his eyes, but the older man didn't notice.

"however, there is one thing i never mentioned," he said, addressing this more to the emerson half of the group.

they all straightened, suddenly curious. what else could come to light now? were werewolves real too? mermaids?

"you see, while i obviously see you boys as my own, i do have..."

before he could finish, paul's fork clattered to the table. everyone turned to look. his back was straight as a line, his entire body turned towards the doorway leading to the foyer.

"paul...?" lucy said cautiously.

he kept staring at the door. he turned to them after a moment. "do you smell that?"

the rest of the table glanced at each other and shrugged.

"you're imagining things, bro," dwayne said.

paul shook his head vehemently. "no, i'm serious i-"

suddenly marko jolted, his own face turning towards the doorway. "no way." he looked at paul, who made a face like i know, right?!

"no fucking way," he repeated. he turned to dwayne and david. "it can't be-"

dwayne's brows furrowed. he looked to david, arching his brow.

and then david smelled it too.

sweet, warm, like a swirling mix of vanilla and sugar. he hadn't smelled that in a while.

he looked at max, who sighed in defeat. his sire shrugged.

"what are we smelling?" laddie complained. "i can''t smell anything!"

they heard the door open, and before they could even see who it was, paul had launched himself out of his chair, practically flying across the room and almost giving lucy a heart attack in the process.

they heard a squeal, the sound of bags thudding to the ground. "paul!" a girl's voice. "hi!"

michael and sam shared a confused look.

"hi. i missed you so much," came the muffled response from the blonde. "missed you- the cave was so boring without you-"

dwayne shoved the blonde off of the figure. "quit hogging her." paul huffed, moving to the side with an indignant pout. dwayne wrapped his own arms around the girl, hugging her tightly. he pulled away, looking down. "you look good," was all the brunette said.

a shrug. "east coast air."

the rest of the people seated at the table couldn't see much. a swish of fabric, two suitcases on the ground, a pair of clean white sneakers.

a hand carefully moved dwayne to the side, leaving him to join paul, who was so excited he looked like he could've exploded on the spot.

sammy and the frogs gaped as you made your way around the table to marko, who pushed his chair back to wrap his arms around your waist.

you were the single most beautiful girl sammy had seen in his life. his eyes caught on your jewelry, your dress, your face. everything about you was gorgeous. he faintly heard you speaking to marko.

"hi," you said sweetly, looking down at the blonde.

"hey, yourself," he replied, grinning up at you. "long time no see."

you scoffed. "its been four months."

"exactly."

you rolled your eyes, letting go of him with a kiss to his hair.

"why does he get a kiss?!" paul whined from his spot on the wall. dwayne elbowed him.

you turned your gaze to david, who simply offered a small, tightlipped smile, before facing max.

"hi, daddy," you said, stepping forward to wrap your arm around your father.

"hello, sweetheart."

if it was possible, sam's jaw dropped even further. you were smoking hot, and you were max's daughter? what the hell?

edgar leaned in. "is she a vamp?"

alan next. "you idiot, if that's her dad, then duh."

sammy ignored them.

you turned to lucy, a polite smile on your face. "you must be lucy?" you tried.

the woman snapped out of whatever momentary shock she'd been in and offered you a sweet smile, standing so she was at your eyelevel. "yes, i am. how do you do?"

you shook her hand. "it's so nice to meet you, my father has told me a lot about you." you glanced at the table, deciding to address everyone as you introduced yourself.

the next hour was spent by max explaining to lucy and the emersons all about you.

max had taken you in long ago, a few decades after the boys, but you had been the only one of the group who had truly taken to being his child, and that was fine by everyone. you had left santa carla just the week before the emersons had moved, heading to new york to work on some project or another for max.

the pack had all rejoined the table, paul yanking your chair close to his and wrapping an arm around your shoudler as you patiently answered laddie's and the frogs' endless questions about the city and what it was like.

as the night wound down, the pack was ready to leave. dwayne hauled one of your bags to the cave, marko the other, as you said your goodbyes to your newfound family. lucy told you you were welcome for dinner anytime, star offered to go to the mall with you, and sammy was still in awe of your beauty.

paul caught him staring as you knelt down to laddie's level to give him a hug and cuffed the blonde on the back of the head. "don't even think about it," he warned. "she's taken."

sammy swatted his hand away with a huff. "by who?" he demanded. paul winked and stepped off the porch.

"later, miss e! thanks for the food!"

lucy laughed, waving at the blonde as he revved his engine.

he shot you a smile. "see you soon, sexy!" he crowed. as he drove off, you heard a faint whoop.

star, michael, and laddie retreated back into the house. max hugged you.

"you'll be alright in the cave?" he asked. "if you need, you can always stay here or back at-"

"i'll be fine, daddy," you laughed. he smiled proudly at you, kissing your forehead. "nothing i haven't done before."

"alright then. goodnight, darling." he and lucy stepped inside too, leaving only sammy and you on the porch.

you didn't seem to notice the younger boy as you smiled to yourself, brushing your dress off. he straightened his shirt out, steeling himself before taking a step forward, mouth open to speak, but before he could, david emerged from the shadows. sam deflated like a popped balloon.

you beamed at david. the ice cold blonde made his way towards you, hands in his pockets. "david," you said.

wordlessly, he pulled you into a kiss, his cool lips meeting yours as he curled his hand around your waist. with a huff, sam stalked off inside and slammed the door.

you pulled away, looking at the door. david gently turned your face towards his with a gloved finger.

"don't stay away too long next time, yeah?" he said. you grinned, leaning into him.

"what, did you miss me?" you teased.

his lips twitched into a barely-there smile. "something like that."

you laughed, lacing your fingers with his. "lets go. i bet the boys are waiting."

david let you lead him towards his parked bike, looking at you with a fondness he rarely let slip. "they're scrambling around the cave, trying to clean up," he mused as he helped you on before sitting down himself.

"you think?" you asked, wrapping your arms around his middle.

he revved the engine. "i know."

as you sped back home, your face pressed to the cool leather of his jacket and the wind whipping your hair, you smiled. you'd missed your boys.

Life without your coven had felt as if everything good had drained from the world. They were your family. They took you in when you needed protection. But when they needed protection, you ran. Lucky enough, you ran into Max when you had gotten to Santa Carla.

You were weak due to not having enough to feed. Hunting had been harder without backup, and finding a place to stay for the night was not always successful. But Max had found you and helped you. He gave you a place for the night and blood to drink.

Your stay was only meant to be temporary until you felt assured enough to be on your own. Max had been very welcoming, he had even given you a job at his shop so you could earn money. You both have started to develop a routine.

Besides having to deal with a few airheaded people, it was nice to work there. Talking to people about movies was always a good time, and now you got paid for it. Although it was hard to control yourself when hunger arose, especially if a rowdy group came in.

One group in particular you caught on that they were vampires too. Max refers to them as "his boys," explaining how he has been a father figure to them. They have hung around the shop and, like tonight, have come in once or twice on occasion. David walked through the door with Marko, Paul, and Dwayne trailing behind. Max had previously pointed them out.

The group circles around the front counter area like predators hunting prey. As they walk, they mess with a few things here and there. You had spotted them but didn't pay much attention until you heard Max speak to one of them. You look up to see Max talking to David, who had a blank stare. You don't know what was said because of Max talking in a hushed tone.

David looks at you, then shifts his gaze behind you. A smirk on his face begins to appear as before, stepping out with the other Paul and Dwayne. Wait...David, Paul, Dwayne. That's only three. Where is Marko? You started to survey the store before you were spooked by a sudden voice.

"Hey" Marko leaned over the desk with a smile on his face. A sly smirk on his face as he rested his chin on his palm.

"Hi" unease settled in your voice.

"So you're Max's new stray?" His tone was smooth and curious.

"I'm not his stray," you corrected, not wanting to be known as that.

"Hey, I'm not judging. We were there once."

"This is only temporary."

"Sick of Santa Carla already. At least tell me you've hit the sights and had your fun."

"I haven't really been anywhere much."

"Well then, guess I have to take you out. Can't have you missing out on a good time."

"I don't want to bail on Max."

"I don't mind at all, it would do you some good" He came from behind you, urging you to go with Marko. You weren't in a spot to argue, not like you wanted to anyway. With that, Marko leads you out of the shop.

The noise and music of the crowded boardwalk fill your senses. Marko walks next to you as you both start walking along the crowd.

"So what's your deal?"

"My deal?"

"I'm not trying to be rude, but you're a new vamp in town, you're staying with the big guy, and you don't even try and talk to us."

"Maybe you guys aren't as magnetic as you think." You lied through your teeth. Of course they were magnetic, everything about them made you want to learn more. Their eye catching style, especially Markos's jacket.

"So you're going to tell me or what?" He changes the subject, not paying attention to your hit on his ego.

"Fine, I was turned in 1946. My coven was killed by hunters, and now I'm on my own."

"Dam" You huffed a bit at his plain response.

Both of you continue your walk through the crowd of people. The energy around the boardwalk was and energetic. With music blasting from all around and screams and yells of people having fun on rides or games. It was easy to get swept up in its craze.

Marko walks slightly behind you, watching you. You turn back a couple of times to find his puppy dog eyes watching you intently. Your attention soon turns to bright lights from the roller coaster, stopping you in your tracks. Marko takes the chance and wraps an arm around your shoulder.

He was close, really close, you could see every detail of him. His tight, crazy curls around his face and the slight smell of smoke and blood. His lips were pressed together in a smirk. He knew you were looking, and he reveled in the attention.

"Ever ride it?" His voice snaps you from your thoughts.

"What?" He motions to the roller coaster.

"Oh, um, no." You turn away, trying to hide the blush that's made its way to your face.

"It's good for one ride but gets old quick" He starts to walk with his arms still around you, leading you down the path.

"I can show you a way better ride if you'd like" He was tempting, beautifully tempting.

"Sounds interesting"

"I can show you now, if you're free" He turns to glance at you, waiting for your response.

It's not like Max would need you at the shop at all. "Now is good"

"Great" he smiles as he leads you in the direction of where the rest of the group was. You both walk up, catching the attention of David.

"Lookie who I got to join the party!" Marko's statement caught the attention of Paul and Dwayne.

"Nice of you to join us." David sounded cold and calculating. His smirk alone made you feel like you were below him in some way. A part of him felt familiar, like a cold reflection of Max.

"Care to share, Marko?" Paul had grabbed you by the waist, pulling you toward him. making you press up against him as he leaned on his parked bike. You gently swat his hand away, and he lets out a fake hiss of pain.

"Don't be weird, man," Dwayne scolded Paul's straightforward actions.

"Jalous, Dwayne?" He says as he mounts onto his bike.

"Rather, I have my hands on you." He mocks Dwayne with a flirtatious tone. Earning him a stomp on the foot from Dwayne in response.

Marko gave you a hand to get onto the back of his dirt bike. The engines all roared in unison. As they all pushed off and started to ride out. Your grip around Markos's waist tightened as he quickly gained speed. The excitement of danger made you feel alive again.

The Lost Boys x Reader Headcanons

(The reader is 18+ and is gender-neutral. The ethnicity/race is preferably Black/POC.)

I think that if one of the boys shows romantic interest in one person, then the rest will eventually show it too, and they’ll decide to pursue them together. 

I personally think they all are polyamorous meaning you will have to get used to their different personalities.

Marko has a wild and chaotic personality, always wanting to cause chaos and fun, teasing and picking at people, trying to start fights for the fun of it. Because of this, he would definitely try to drag you into some chaotic fun and get you to smile and laugh.

Paul, like Marko, has a wild and chaotic personality too, but he leans more toward wildness than chaos, wanting to do life-threatening dangerous things for the thrill. He enjoys doing things that he would be scared to do if he was still human.

Both Paul and Marko would work together to bring a smile to your face the minute they see you. If you’re on the shyer side, they would try to bring out the more confident and brave side of you.

David and Dwayne have similar personalities, but they have subtle differences. 

A lot of people see Marko and Paul as the most likely to be into PDA, but I think it would be more likely Paul and Dwayne that are into it. 

While Paul wouldn’t hesitate to hug, cuddle, and kiss you, almost making out with you in public, Dwayne is more subtle in his PDA. He would casually throw an arm around you or pull you to his body. If you and him are sitting or walking somewhere, he would make sure to be close to you and probably have a silent battle between him and Paul about who would sit next to you. 

Unlike the others, you probably wouldn’t know that David had an actual interest with you. When you and the boys are walking around the boardwalk, David would be the one furthest from you, in the back of the group, but he would be watching you closely. 

He would be observing you with the boys, making sure that none of them get too rowdy or put you in danger.

The closest thing to PDA he would do is holding your hand. He is a bit more shy than the others, so in public, he would give you space, but in private, he would gladly give you as much hugs, kisses, and cuddling as you want.

I don’t see David and Dwayne as jealous as Marko and Paul, but I do see them as more protective. 

I think they would let you be human for as long as you want, but they will definitely expect you to be turned at some point, especially David. 

The relationship wouldn’t even have been a month long yet, and they would already be making space for you in the cave. I can see David giving the others instructions on how to set up your space in the cave, tips on how to decorate, and how to make everything comfortable enough for you. 

A relationship with all four of them would be filled with fun, intensity, chaos, and not worrying about things like bills, jobs, or school.

The boys are not happy to find the new video store employee being messed with by a group of surfers so they step in. On your next full moon, you decide to repay them in kind.

Part 1

A/N: although this is written with a gn reader, the insults used against the reader tend to be more afab leaning and any future smut chapters will also be written with afab anatomy, as it is what I am most comfortable with. If that is something that bothers you, this series is probably not for you, sorry! 

Surprisingly, not every night on the boardwalk is a violently wild one; most are filled with screaming children high on sugar rushes, frazzled parents trying to wrangle said children, and teenagers (high on more than just sugar) trying to act older than they are. Unfortunately, tonight was not one of those nights. 

Customers had been pretty scarce in the last hour, the last being a frazzled looking father running out last minute to get a movie for his daughter’s sleepover. That had been over 30 minutes ago, leaving you boredly sorting through tapes. You knew the second the group of surfers burst through the door that your peaceful night was about to be ruined. Like any rude customer, they ignored your customary greeting to instead giggle amongst themselves like they were 14—not the near 30-year-olds they appeared to be. Sighing, you chose to keep unpacking the cart in front of you rather than expose yourself to their childishness. As the four browsed, you zoned out their noise. Eventually, however, you were brought back to the present when you noticed movement out of the corner of your eye and barely had time to take a step back before the bulky figure of a man cornered you between a shelf and the cart. Immediately feeling (and smelling) the rancid energy pouring from the guy, you attempted to assuage the tension. 

“Did you need help finding anything?” your voice came out surprisingly unstartled. “Hard Bodies is over there if you need a good surf recommenda—”. 

“I found something right here, babe,” he attempts to sound seductive, “I’m thinking we can make a blue movie of our own.” 

You attempt to deflect while keeping your customer service facade by moving to grab the recommendation from a nearby shelf just to be blocked by the guy’s arm. 

“Come on, let me show you a good time,” he leans so close you have to press your entire body against the shelf to avoid touching him.

“Please get away from me,” you mumble, struggling to look into his eyes and instead focusing on the streaks of white in his hair. You can feel the sneer you get in response. 

“Sorry, I couldn’t hear you. Mind speaking—”

“HEY! PUT THOSE BACK!” It was your turn to interrupt, all previous nerves going out the window when you noticed the rest of the group sneaking back to the doors, tapes in hand. You attempt to dodge past the guy–clearly trying to act as a distraction so his friends could steal–only to be aggressively pushed back, your head smacking against the metal of the shelf. 

“RUN!” 

You struggle to gain your bearings, head pounding. No. No, I can’t let Max down, not after everything he’s done for me. I can’t fail again. You feel a growl begin to form deep in your throat, fingers flexing with the desire to shift. To tear into these thieves. You take a step toward the door, but before you could do something entirely stupid like shifting and killing four people in broad carnival light, you heard the unmistakable sound of purring engines and squealing tires. Thank fuck. That was close. Too close. 

Shaking off the pain, you make for the door. Instead, your face meets flesh. A pair of steady hands grasp onto your shoulders, the cool feeling of rings on your bare arms soothing you back to awareness. You didn’t even have to look up to know who those hands belonged to. His name is on the tip of your tongue before you remember you’re technically not supposed to know anything about them. Thankfully, Dwayne speaks first. 

“You okay, sweetheart?” His voice is low and gentle, like he’s trying not to spook you. And although he’s unaware that you could easily rip out the throats of the surfers, you realize that you’re grateful that for once you can let someone else be strong for you. 

“I…thank you. Yes, I’m okay. Just glad they weren’t able to steal from Max.” Unconsciously you raise your hand to soothe the spot that had slammed into the shelf. His gaze follows your hand intently. He leans in, eyes dark and bordering on angry. Before he gets the chance to question your slight lie, the moment is broken when Paul and Marko’s cackles ring through the store, a struggling surfer scruffed under each arm. Eyes wide, you hastily step away from Dwayne to take a look at the commotion. Hearing him mumble something about the “terror twins”.

“Hey, babe—“

“—look what—“

“—the bats—“

“—dragged in!” 

The moniker makes a lot of sense when you watch the two interrupt each other to get your attention, each sporting a grin: Paul’s flirty and Marko’s shit-eating. Your mumbled reply of “I don’t think that’s how the saying goes” is ignored when the bell rings a third time, the prowling click of David’s footfalls seeming to overpower the noise. The struggling and swearing of the surfers cut off as David tuts. 

“Now, boys, that wasn’t very polite was it? I think you should say sorry to our friend here,” David mocks, “stealing is wrong you know.”

Dwayne leans in, whispering something into David’s ear that makes his spine stiffen. “Oh, is that right? Stealing AND laying your grimy hands on them? It’s not looking great for you.” 

Three of the surfers keep their mouths closed, recognizing that saying something would not be the smartest move right now. It seems, the same one who cornered you earlier is not only the creepiest, but the stupidest of the bunch as he decides to open his mouth. 

“Maybe if that stuck-up bitch let me have some, I wouldn't have had to get physical.” A second passes as everyone processes the sheer idiocy from the man’s mouth. You feel an embarrassed and disgusted flush creep over your body at the taunt. 

SMACK. The back of David’s hand would have sent the man flying to the ground if not for the white-knuckle grip Marko had on him. You can sense the shift in the room as the energy surrounding David grows from mocking to downright terrifying. I better do something before two of us almost expose ourselves tonight. 

“It–It’s fine, David. I don’t want to make a scene after Max trusted me to watch the store alone tonight. I can just take the tapes back and ban them. Please...” You can hear your voice begin to waver towards the end of your plea, an unknown part of you upset at the idea of disagreeing with the group’s leader. Everyone holds their breath as eyes flick between you and David. Whether it’s the way you pathetically hold your arms for comfort, your shaky voice, or the realization that it would be better to wait to catch the surfers alone to not just beat, but eat them–David decides to acquiesce. He nods to Paul and Marko to drop them, everyone watching as they scramble out the door.

Trying not to let the boys see the tears forming in your eyes, you begin returning the stolen tapes. When you’re met with silence instead of the sound of retreating footsteps and the bell, you look up to see four pairs of eyes already watching. 

“Thanks for your help…did you need, um,” you cringe at your own awkwardness, “are you looking for a movie?”

“No.” 

“Oh. Well Max won’t be back for probably another hour so if you’re waiting for him…” you trail off, confused at the fact they hadn’t fled the uncomfortable atmosphere to go ride the ferris wheel for an hour or whatever it is they do. 

The tension breaks when David huffs and pulls out a cigarette, “just go back to working, we’ll keep watch." The boys take it as permission to let loose again. Paul loosely throws an arm around your shoulders, Marko looks for a movie to play on the TVs, and Dwayne grabs the tapes from your hands to help.

That’s how Max finds you when he returns an hour later from his date with Lucy: practically fallen on the floor from laughing so hard at a story from the terror twins, prevented only by Dwayne’s steadying hand on your shoulder. The content smile on David’s face as he watches from his spot on the counter immediately fading away as he notices his sire. 

I thought I told you to stay away from here. David smirks. Well, be glad we didn’t. Almost lost some precious cargo. Max’s eyebrows raise. David glances towards you. Let’s just say, we’ll be having seafood for dinner tonight.

David didn’t like the self-satisfied look on his sire’s face between the two of you he received in reply.

Since that night, you’d only talked to the boys once or twice in passing, none of you mentioning the surfers’ missing posters that popped up overnight. You tried not to take their lack of attention too personally, but your heart still raced when you’d think about how safe they made you feel that night: Dwayne’s silent support, Marko and Paul distracting you with laughter (and flirtations), and David standing guard above it all, like your alpha–a good alpha would. You pointedly decide to ignore that last thought. Plus, Max informed you cryptically that he and the boys would be busy with “a family reunion”; you think it might have something to do with a cute curly-haired brunette following Star around like a lost wolf pup. Good for her. 

You also needed to focus on storing up your strength for the coming transformation. This morning was your last shift before the full moon tomorrow and you were ready for an easy day followed by a large pizza on your couch. 

Instead, that’s when you found a despondent Thorn mourning his master. 

Now you find yourself curled around the whining hound, unsure of what to do next. Then, a terrible thought struck you–were the boys killed too? 

Thorn’s huff against your face broke you out of that thought, realizing he wanted to communicate something with you. While you did not share the easy conversation between two shifted werewolves, if you paid enough attention to the notes in his whines and his body language you can understand Thorn’s emotions. His wet nose against your cheek and the four huffs indicated, Yes, four pack remain. A little relief came at that. But, his concerned and mournful whine seemed to say, but pack hurt. Master gone. This time you let your cry join Thorn’s.

The morning after a full moon is like waking up with a killer hangover, except instead of a headache and memories of downing shots and dancing, every muscle in your body is strained from running, the taste of raw meat lingers on the tongue, and you vaguely remember slicing through a man’s throat in one clean swipe. And leaving the body by the cave so the boys can heal. Wait, what?

You distinctly recall telling yourself that the boys had just lost their sire and to leave them be. That a random wolf encroaching on their territory will be taken as a threat, especially when they are vulnerable. Apparently, your wolf did not agree. 

You are totally, and royally, fucked.

𝕻𝖆𝖎𝖗𝖎𝖓𝖌𝖘 Poly lost boys {including Mike and star}  x Non vampiric g.n.reader along with platonic laddie {the goat or the movie btw}

𖤓 as I stated in the paring part the reader is non vampiric since who else is driving the car during the day? Cause I can promise you none of y'all are paying for a hotel.  

𖤓 all this takes place in a shitty pickup truck that’s falling apart at the seems that Micheal had haggled out of his grandfather

𖤓 now looking at the truck it only has three seats in the back and two in the front. When you’re driving during the day Laddie and Dwayne are in shotgun. 

𖤓 Micheal is sat between David and star in the backseat while paul and marko are either in the trunk with their bikes or tangled together on the floor.

𖤓 when it’s night micheal or star are usually driving whine you sleep in the back while laddie looks out from the back, sitting with you. The other four boys race on their bikes around the truck and across the usually empty roads

𖤓 yall abuse the Absolute SHIT out of gas stations. Paul and David get gummies while Dwayne, laddie and Micheal get chocolates and chips while marko just raids all the Altoids for mainly the tins to use later in crafts. Marko does absolutely share them since he gets like five to seven at a time at each gas station.

𖤓 star usually makes yall stop at cheep shitty restaurants or grocery stores for actual food. Every time you buy food at these grocery stores though Micheal gets multiple baguettes or sour dough to pass around. It’s something he and his family does (and mine lol totally not projecting) they call it road bread cause after all regular nutritional rules don’t apply on the road

𖤓 as they bike during the night they tend to run off on random exists or just into the fucking woods though they appear after an hour or two 

𖤓 another thing marko specifically does if he can’t sleep during the day is make stamps out of rubber erasers or draw passing scenery.

𖤓 if paul can’t sleep he’s usually up laying over the center console reaching over and messing with the radio until something he likes comes on or there’s at least no commercials if not he made mixtapes so the threat of bag music and commercials can’t hurt you

𖤓 if Dwayne can’t sleep he tends to just shut his eyes as he talks to you, gently holding laddie as he sleeps. 

𖤓 Micheal falls asleep fast rarely so you are if not always talking about something or singing.

𖤓 since star doesn’t have her own bike when it’s night and Micheal is driving she likes to hold you on her chest and hum. Sometimes she’ll talk though it’s rare. She also likes to watch the clouds and sometimes will point interesting ones to you and laddie since she doesn’t want to distract the driver, Micheal.

𖤓 on the rare occasions where David can’t sleep he just likes to stare at you through the rear view mirror trying to intimidate you though it doesn’t work. At this point you’ve known him for a while and how his actual demeanor is under all that leather.

𖤓 star rarely fails to sleep but when she does she doesn’t make a big mess out of it. She might talk to you or continue another one of Marko's many abandoned embroidery projects on her skirts.

𖤓 on the (not so) rare occasion where all of you are sore from sleeping in the truck and you actually decide to get a motel room all of you are piled into on queen sized bed with you, laddie, and star in the middle with Dwayne behind star, marko behind you, Micheal and David cuddled on either side and Paul just laying on everyone.

𖤓 at these motels everyone is raiding the buffet. It’s as subconscious pull at this point for the list of you to raid anything complimentary (the reason why we have to pay for so much shit at hotels is because of yall)

𖤓 on the roadtrip the destination is entirely unknown but it had been Micheal’s idea to try the cannon ball run route or steady the starting and ending points. So really it’s just hitting as many stops as you drive across the country.

𖤓 you end up seeing lots of different concerts and music festivals on the trip along with minor feeding into gambling addictions and recreational use of the good stuff

𖤓 some night when you don’t have an inn to stay at but you’re still sore you guys stay at a place in the woods for a couple of days. One time you found a waterfall leading into a pond and you ended up staying there for three days just messing around and recharging 

𖤓 I think star is into photography so she’s definitely one to document the entire thing with marko. Marko adds little doodles to a dedicated sketch book while star writes summaries along with her beautifully captured Polaroid pictures 

𖤓 Dwayne is also really good at staring fires while Micheal is real good as barbecuing over said fire.

𖤓 Micheal likes to chop wood as well and paul likes to watch him though since he’s mostly actually cooking the food you are put in cutting wood too. And of course paul still watches happily 

𖤓 on these camping stops marko also makes the most obnoxious s’mores known to man. Think of the most outlandish shit on a s’more and that’s what is on his s’more
