Trigger warnings: Mentions of angst and chronic illnesses
Your heart trembled, as you paced the hardwood floor of your apartment’s tiny living room. They’d be here any minute, wondering what the matter would be no doubt. You couldn’t find it in your heart to talk to them about what was going through your mind via holo vid or text. This was personal to you, and so, this talk had to be dealt with face to face.
Looking out your living room window, you spotted them, pulling up into the parking lot with a roar of Mako’s “Hog” revving into a parking space. Jamie’s face had a hint of worry to it, the fact that you needed to see them to have “a talk” with them didn’t bode well for his nerves. It really didn’t for you either. He hopped out of his side car, and waited for his partner in crime to grunt off his “Hog”. Roadhog’s mask was on his face but, you knew he probably must’ve been worried too, you could tell by the way he hesitantly stood by his bike and looked up to your apartment window, located on the third floor.
You two made eye contact for a brief moment before the junkers walked their way into the apartment complex. It seemed like you could hear the heavy footsteps climbing up the step of the stairs and it made your heart drop ever so much more, feeling the butterflies in your stomach fluttering anxiously. Finally, there came two loud knocks at the door, and then;
“Y/N, it’s us, open up…So we can have our lil…chit-chat…” Jamie’s voice wavered at the end of his sentence seeming hollow and soft. You took a deep breath and took the door knob into your hands, turning it slowly and opening the door to reveal two familiar looming figures. You couldn’t hide the depression in your eyes, nor the knot in your stomach. How would they feel about you confessing your “little problem” to them? It already made you feel like less of a woman, less of a person more than it seemed. Would they actually want to stay with you after you tell them? Would it be too much of heavy load for them to carry, on top of being one of the world’s most wanted criminals and thieves?
You granted the two permission to enter your apartment, and shut the door softly behind you as they both entered.
“Arroight first things first,” Jamie started, he looked a little perturbed and troubled. This unsettled you as you saw Mako sitting on the couch, head slightly turned to face the floor. “I’m not good with bad news, you know this. Roadie knows it. I’m not good at handling dramar or any of that. I don’t have the patience for that kinda garbage, kay? Secondly…” he leaned his prosthetic arm into the wall, sighing. “I’m not gonna have ya keepin me and Roadie in the dark forever love, that ain’t fair fer none of us.”
Your eyes widened at what Jamie had said. Slightly put off at how direct and straight to the point he was, but at the same time you couldn’t blame him either. These two men, had been through so much together, so much hardship and so much trouble. Burdens you could even call them….and even yourself. You reached out for your phone and typed out a message. You could already feel your eyebrows furrowing slightly upward as you typed out your message.
“Are you breaking up with us?” Jamie blurted out.
You quickly looked up and shot a glance at him, his expression, a sorrowful frown and his stance stiff as a board. And you could faintly hear sniffs coming from Mako’s direction, unknowing if he was crying or not. You stood in disbelief, mouth agape and eyes as round as orbs. Was that why Jamie had become so harsh and blunt to you the minute he walked in the door, because they thought you had wanted to end your relationship? Jamie caught onto your distress and disbelief and he squinted his yellow eyes at you, feeling confused at what was happening. “That’s…why ya called us here….roight?” he asked his expression gone more gentle.
Your breath hitched and it felt as if a knife had been stabbed straight through your chest. You couldn’t help the tears flowing out of your eyes, the turn of your stomach twisting in knots and the audible sob that escaped your mouth. You shook your head “no” over and over, to the point where it could almost give you a migrane, but you didn’t care. You tried typing out the words on your phone, but your little hands were trembling so much from the overbearing anxiety inside you, that you had dropped your phone. Mako immediately stood up and paced over to where you were, Jamie was completely startled but was quick to grab you, his hands onto your own, squeezing them slightly.
“Lookit me, Y/N! H-Hey lookit me!...”
He placed his hands onto your soft face as the tears streamed down and more sobs escaped your lips. You had tried to form words as you sobbed, you tried so hard to tell the two that you had loved them with all your heart and that you wanted the three of you to stay together forever. All that could come out, however, were little whimpers and sobs. It irritated you to no end that you could barely form words, to tell them how you really felt and what was really on your mind. So you did the only thing you knew how to do to show them your love from your heart; you quickly planted a kiss on to his lips and stayed there for a few seconds and once more onto Mako’s mask. Jamie was dumbfounded and tried to put the pieces together in his head, tried to decipher the little code of facial and body language you always had, to better understand you. “So…wait…” he started. “Y-yer…not ending…this?” he asked hopeful.
Again, you pressed your lips against his own and kissed him, a little more passionately than the last. You broke off the kiss and shook your head “no”. With your hands, you signed to him, “I love you.” And made the same sign to Mako. You heard little gasps escape Jamie as he pulled you in for a tight embrace. Mako, being behind you, embraced you as well. Peppering kisses all over your shoulder and neck, feeling his warm touch on your back. All of you now in a tight loving bundle, swaying slightly keeping the balance. The two men were completely at ease and relieved that you still wanted to be theirs. But the sudden pang of guilt, nagged on in Jamie’s conciseness. Feeling absolutely awful for how he was acting towards you and how he was too quick to jump the gun. He needed to apologize and fast.
“Oh love… oh sweets,” he blurted. “ ‘M sorry…’m so sorry. Me and Roadie…we thought…” he squeezed you tighter. “We thought you were done with us…thought you wanted things to be through…I should’ve known bettah…’m so sorry…please…” He took your hands and placed tender kisses on top. “Forgive an ol’ Rat? I love ya too much to lose ya…” You nodded your head and a big wide grin covered Jamie’s face, peppering your forehead with kisses. You felt yourself being turned around by a pair of big familiar palms. Looking up, you saw that Mako had removed his mask and got to your eye level. “Y/N…” he started, as his hands caressed the side of your face. “I love ya….forgive me?” Mako asked softly.
You nodded your head and placed a kiss on his lips. Your foreheads resting on one another. Jamie had hugged the both of you again, all of your worries and all of your dejection, completely emancipated.
Junkrat, finally had let go and stared down at you, confusion back on his face. “So love, if that wasn’t the reason you rang us here,” he started. “What was it then? Something else on yer mind?” he asked. You remembered before the accusation, on why you called them there. A depressed frown crossed your face and you picked up your phone. Typing away and then pressing “send” the minute you were done. Mako got behind Jamie and heard his phone ring a text tone. He opened the message and it read as followed;
Y/N: “There’s something you need to know about me.”
The boys looked up at you, puzzled and confused as to what little secret you could have. Curious they had you sit on the couch and stood right in front of you. “Whatever it is love, ya know we’ll always be there for ya…We both love ya too much to let ya go…” Jamie said. “Hell, even if ya were plannin’ on breakin it off, we would’a probably just kidnap ya. But that wasn’ th’ reason! So…it must be somethin’ else. Lemme see…” His prosthetic hand rubbed his chin as he was thinking. “Ya workin wit them Talon blokes?” You shook your head “no”. “ ‘Kay, you…’ He paused for a second only to blurt out; “Ya ain’t workin fer the Queen are ya?!” he asked a little too loudly. You immediately shook your head at that one.
Never in your life would you ever consider working for someone who banished your boyfriends from ever going back home. That was an absolute no-go. Besides, being with your two men kept things fun and entertaining for you. And that they would protect you from anyone who dared come in between what the three of you had. Jamie had snapped his fingers; “Ah! You committed tax evasion!” You giggled but shook your head “no”. Jamie was just being silly at this point, trying to make you laugh and it was working. Mako placed his hand on his cohort’s head and shoved him to the side, rolling his eyes at how goofy Jamie was being.
“Let her talk, Rat…” He grumbled. Jamie crossed his arms and stared back at you, awaiting a response. You typed out your next message, your face turning into a frown and pressing send once more. The text tone rang off once again and the boys looked at the message. Their expressions changed slowly, a slow stunned look on their faces as they read over the words. It read;
Y/N: I have a chronic illness.
They looked up at each other and then to you, your face staring down at your living room floor. You felt sickened having to admit this. You absolutely hated this aspect about yourself, how disgusting it made you feel and how bothersome it was to you, how you had to live with this throughout your whole life being in worlds of pain and misery. You typed out more words onto your phone and sent the message to them. Hearing the text tone again they opened the message;
Y/N: It’s called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or PCOS for short.
Jamie stared back up flabbergasted and rubbed his head. “Gee lovey,” he started. “I didn’ know you were sick. I would’a gotten ya some meds had ya told me, or I would’a gotten ya some-“ he was cut off by you making a noise, indicating that wasn’t what you meant. You typed out another message, this one took a minute more to type out. Sending the message, you stared up at them and when they finally opened the text, it read;
Y/N: It’s not like a cold or the flu. This is something that’ll never go away. It’s something I’ve had since I was real young. And it’s caused me a great deal of pain and grief. I’ve always felt like less of a woman having it, because it makes me feel like some sort of disgusting monster. And I wanted to tell the both of you, just in case you didn’t want to be with me anymore…because of it.
They both shot a glance at you, tears once more streamed down your face and you looked down at your feet, your heart swelling with shame. Mako grabbed you and took you into his arms, this startled you completely and you gasped as he lifted you off the ground, carrying you bridal style. “Rangatira…” he whispered.
Jamie kissed your temple and leaned his forehead into the crook of your neck. “Darl’….” Junkrat started. “Why didn’t ya tell us?” he asked resting his head on your tummy. “You mean,” Jamie looked up at you. “Ta tell me, that you, our girl, our lil giggly sweets, has a war goin’ on in her insides? Sweet Jesus, love.” He placed tender kisses on your tummy. “Ain’t there a cure fer it? Ain’t there somethin’ docs can do ‘bout it? Anythin’? They can’t just let ya suffer like this!” He spoke a little loudly, perhaps agitated that the medical system may have failed you. For the two junkers, succumbing to such things like atomic meltdowns, radiation poisoning, body mutilations and brawls was next to nothing for them. That was their life, and it was how things were in the Outback, especially in Junkertown.
But you, you were stuck with this, stuck with it out of shit-luck. And since childhood no less. You had a life, a family, friends and a future. But fate had something else in store for you, and by no means, was it fair, but life never really is.
The boys took you to your bedroom, they placed you on your nice soft and comfy bed, and climbed in with you. They cuddled up next to you, caressing you ever so softly. Jamie slowly moving his position to be on top of your tummy, placed several more kisses on top. You sighed softly at the little displays of affection the boys were showering you with.
Jamie finally spoke. “Love, ya know me n’ Roadie are mad for ya. We’d destroy an entire city block if ya wanted us to…this,” Jamie kissed your stomach again. “Will never drive us away, understand, love? You’re stuck with us and ya won’t be gettin’ rid of us so easily.” He began to plant kisses as made his way toward your face. “An’ never, an’ I mean never, let this make ya feel less of a woman. Ya know what I think?”
He crawled up to your face and began peppering you with more kisses. “I think,” He started. “It makes ya more of a woman. Think ‘bout it. Ya lived with this practically ya whole life, on top of not bein able ta talk much, then havin ya other problems an’ what have ya and having to deal with a couple’a reckless blokes like us.” Mako chuckled at the last comment Jamison made, but you didn’t avert your gaze away from him. “Y/N…ya more of a woman than ya think. Yer a helleva strong woman, stronger than that Russian sheila whose always got it out for us…” You giggled at that, you knew Zarya did not like the Junkers at all, and was on their case constantly about your relationship, with the whole “break her heart I’ll break your neck” speech.
Mako carassed you and turned your face to face his. “You love me…love the man…and the monster,” He whispered. “I adore you, aroha. Our hearts belong to you.” He leaned in and closed the gap between your lips with his and kissed you passionately.
Jamie happily watched as the two of you were completely entangled in the heated kiss. Finally breaking for air, you ran your fingers through Jamie’s hair as he rested on your tummy and leaned your head onto Mako’s chest. The three of you, now relaxed and at ease with one another. A moment like this was one of the things you absolutely savored in life. It was really a time where you and the boys could just be lost in each other and just fall asleep in each other’s arms. You adore these moments, you wish you could stay like this for all eternity without a care in the world. Jamison broke the silence, however, by whispering; “You’re ours, ya hear me?” Hearing that sent chills up your spine, but you nodded your head and smiled, loving the idea of being owned by your two favorite men in the whole world. You then hear Mako add, “What’s ours is ours…Y/N…Property of Junkrat and Roadhog.”
