when they're still driving, they really throw themselves into racing and training. if they think about you too much they'll go into anxious spirals. there's a lot of stress relief happening in their hotel rooms after races. seb flirts less with journalists because there's this little voice in the back of his head telling him he might never see you again and this is what he's doing ... jenson goes in the opposite direction and starts making more jokes about one night stands because he's trying to ignore his emotions.
after they retire, they've both mellowed out a bit—they've seen you through several deployments now, and they're more content to just go about life relatively normally until you come home. they still get a little intense about their hobbies when you're away, though. jenson goes full petrolhead about his car collection and takes more jobs commentating with sky. seb gets reallyyyyyy into beekeeping and diy and gardening. you come home to four new garden beds and a luxury car to go with each of them.
