Poligala falso-bosso (Polygaloides chamaebuxus (L.) O.Schwarz, Polygalaceae) (vecchia dia)
The entire genus Comesperma is endemic to Australia, particularly in Western Australia. But the eastern coast has some of the most showy ones, such as this one: C. ericinum.
Eggleaf milkwort (Hebecarpa ovatifolia). Found the original plant (picture 3) in a cemetery in Maverick County in October of last year. Didn't recognize it and took some seeds. This was the only one that germinated, but it's done extremely well. The seedling's foliage is greener and less densely haired, but I'm not sure if this is normal variation or the fact that it was grown with regular watering in a spot with afternoon shade. Not the most spectacular flower, but it's not a plant I've seen in cultivation anywhere else! Going to grow out some more next year and see if we can get that nice gray foliage back.
#1759 - Comesperma flavum
A showy wildflower from the Milkwort family (Polygalaceae), endemic to coastal SW WA, along with 18 others of the 24 in the genus.
It prefers to grow in non-chalky sandy soil, near seepage zones. They start flowering with spring rains, and soon produce the hairy seeds they got their genus from, but will respond to summer or autumn rain by producing more flowers above the ones that have already gone to seed.
In sheltered areas it grows to about 150cm tall.

An example of Monnina, a genus in Polygalaceae common in the tropical Americas. Unfortunately, a number of the endemic species in Ecuador, where this one was found, are endangered.
