tan and black coat colouring my beloved
I woke up today to the house still smelling of lavender, lemon, and rosemary after yesterday's cleansing. I properly tended the spirit house for the first time since my long weekend, harvested a few more sprigs of lavender from the garden, and am now settling in with some eyebright tea, a dressed candle, and my memaw's (🧿 קײן עין־הרע) playing cards she first taught me to read with (yes, they're barely hanging on for dear life after over 20 years of use, but they still do the job). It's been a good day, and I have a feeling it's going to stay a good day.
This fragile euphrasia was living in 2023, in an alpine meadow which has since been destroyed. It's called "development".
their name is Eyebright
Eyebright / Świetlik / Euphrasia Poland, 2019
Eyebright (Euphrasia Officinalis) beside a road and at the edge of a muir in Wester Ross, Scotland (30th August 2024)
Eyebright is often described as a semi-parasitic plant, in that it takes water and other nutrients from the roots of other plants, in this case grass.
