I almost cited Freud's concept of polymorphous perversity in my response to that ask. I was taught that it referred to the vast and untamed nature of human sexual desires in university, and it's a snappy phrase.
Unfortunately, the concept is ACTUALLY rooted in Freud's belief in infantile sexuality, which was itself rooted in the desire to tell his young, female clients that they had actually wanted and therefore imagined the sexual assaults by fathers they told him about.
This is a man who started doing talk therapy with "hysterical" high-class women and gradually became convinced that hysteria was a trauma response to unreported sexual assaults in childhood. Not by pulling that out of a hat, like he did infantile sexuality, but because so many of these women reported similar experiences that it couldn't possibly be faked.
Rather than advocate for his patients against their fathers, who were paying him, Sigmund decided to blame them for being such horny babies that they imagined having sex with their fathers and then resented their fathers for NOT raping them, actually. Babies.
