PU is polyurethane. Polyurethane casting material has a wide range of uses, so PU material prototype are also very common in daily life. Since it is a common material in life, what are its characteristics?
Features of PU:
1. The PU material has good physical properties, resistance to bend, good flexibility, and it has high tensile strength and air permeability.
2. PU material has high air permeability, high peel strength and high-water pressure resistance, so PU material is an ideal material for the surface and bottom layers of waterproof and breathable clothing fabrics.
3. The pattern roller has a long service life, so the cost of PU leather is higher than that of PVC leather.
4. It has thermoplasticity, spinnability, and can be made into plastics and fibers.

6. Temperature resistance is -20℃ to high temperature 120℃.

The process of vacuum casting prototype

1,3D printing a prototype
Before make vacuum casting mold ,we need to make a prototype first.The prototype can be make from more common ABS material ,CNC or 3D printing both ok.The surface effect of the prototype determines the surface effect of the subsequent copy batch prototype. So the prototype surface need do better.
2,silicon mold
When the prototype is ready,we will start making silicon mold.First fix the prototype ,fix the electric board or ABS board in five directions of the prototype (left, right, front, back and down), then inject the silicon.After 8 hours of drying,cut open the silicon mold ,take out the prototype .In this time ,the silicon mold ready.
3,make vacuum casting prototype
Bake the mold for 1 hour at a constant temperature of 100 degrees, and then take out the mold to cool down in its natural state, or the fan can cool down, it cannot be cooled in water, if it is cooled in water, the product will definitely shrink!
After cooling down to room temperature, pour the liquid gum material into the silicone mold and dry it. The service life of the transparent silicone mold is about 8 to 10 times. Put the material in the oven for 2 hours, take it out and let it cool down to room temperature to open the mold and take out the product.
