i was really into gilmore girls when it was on (well, a little afterwards actually when i borrowed a friend’s dvd sets) but i started to rewatch it when they first put it on netflix and really didn’t like it for some reason. i stopped shortly into season 3, i think, but i might give it another go.

Isn't Peaky Blinders set in the aftermath of WWI? Holocaust happened in WW2 right?
yes? i don’t know what you’re trying to imply here. my post says the holocaust happens after peaky blinders. the holocaust happened during ww2, peaky blinders is set right after ww1. to be more specific, season one of peaky blinders begins in 1919, season two in 1921, and ww2 begins late 1939 and ends in 1945.
this is less than twenty years after season two. if you’re trying to imply romani weren’t oppressed before the holocaust, that isn’t true. nazism didn’t show up out of nowhere; jews and romani were oppressed hundreds of years before the holocaust. they were enslaved, they were subjected to oppressive laws, were forced into labor camps hundreds of years before the holocaust, were viewed them as subhuman because of their status. it was as early as 1935 romani were legally stripped of their citizenship status in nazi-occupied spaces.
this applies to tommy, being romani. if he were in nazi-occupied spaces less than twenty years after peaky blinders as it is now, he would be killed for not fitting hitler’s (and obviously, a significant amount of other people - the holocaust didn’t just *happen*, people let it happen) standard of whiteness.
